He seems very laid back. He's the opposite to someone like Pickford, for example.

Yeah, I remember. Someone on here, I think he was a mod, was adamant our squad was very strong and strengthening would be a waste of money.

Very unlike any top class keepers who are always at their defenders. He's closer to Steele or Camp than Pickford in his mentality from what I've seen. He's shown he can stop shots in the past but other than that his game needs an awful lot of work.

I was banned after the Luton play off game for saying it was a great achievement to get there but that I expected Luton to win overall. Guess what , I was right and received no apology. Some want an echo chamber. I argued we'd struggle to go up without a 20 goal a season striker this year. We've only 1 who has 10 so far.

He's a good shot stopper and his short passing is decent enough. His command of the area isn't good enough and that probably comes from his laid back personality.

I'm hoping his personality also means this will roll off his back and he doesn't let a big mistake like he made yesterday get to him.

This has always bugged me, maybe I just never see it but he rarely seems to be vocal. He's a decent keeper but I don't think he's really improved over the past couple of seasons, maybe the lack of competition for the number one spot is negatively impacting him and he's just comfortable.

Its not rolling off his back at the moment. He's getting worse week on week. His short game isn;t as good as it could be and we need to change that aspect of our game anyway.

It's fair to say he hasn't improved much, he was pretty decent from the start and still is.

I don't think we'll be at risk of losing him to a top club as they'll have been looking at him kicking on and improving.

I don't see that. Yes he made a bad mistake in the last game, but he had a decent game otherwise. It's not like it's error after error. I think he may have been at fault for one against Leeds too, to be fair - but still. 😂

He plato'd at the start of last season and has recently gotten worse imo. Competition is a good thing but appears he's nit had any for some time. And we seem to set up to protect us against his weaknesses rather than trying to coach them out of his game, to the teams detriment.

There have been other errors and we're playing defensively in part to shield him. He never comes off his line.

We seem to constantly bring in second choices who are clearly no threat. Agree he doesn't seem to be improving on his weaknesses. I'd be surprised if he went off to a PL club this summer, unless he went as second choice/token homegrown player.

It'd be third choice but a I see him staying as he'll be cheap. Another reason why he hasn't and won't be replaced unless its internally. Good Keepers, like strikers are worth their weight in gold though.
 
Have not read all the thread so I don't know if it's been suggested, but why don't we get behind the lad and show him some support on Friday night, sing his name and let him know he's one of our own.

I suspect that's potentially down to alcohol, probably in pretty decent quantities. A pro athlete, who trains every day and literally exercises for a living, would have to be eating non stop to put on that much weight from food alone in that time period. Alcohol however? Much easier to go buck wild with those additional cals, leading to quick fat gain. Just my opinion of course, here's hoping he hasn't got a drink problem/isn't a piss head.

Spot on. He looks exposed. Needs a reassuring presence on the sideline. He had a top relationship with Preece, he is not at the top of his game, but he is our best keeper. GK'ing is 90% in the mind, he needs support.
