Patto

Just watching Pope and Sels today. Sels rooted to his line at times, dropped a cross almost into his own net conceding 4 goals. Keepers have shit matches now and again up and down the country but i'm not sure fans react like ours do.
He's being consistently poor this season so we aren't reacting any different to other fans when their keeper isn't performing

He’s cost us directly in 3 of the last 4 games I think. I don’t think he covers himself in glory v Watford either,
Has he saved us in the past? Yes. Does that make it ok? No

We know we could do a lot worse, but also wanting better isn’t a crime. The lad despite what others think is out of shape

He hasn't - its subjective at best. Before yesterday's game he was around 8th best on statistical measures (nowt to brag about granted but not consistently poor either) and as mentioned he has won us points against the likes of Sheffield United, Burnley and Norwich as he has cost us points recently. Its the ups and downs of a keeper. Even yesterday - he chucks one in and one end and Jobe misses and absolute sitter of a header at the other its barely mentioned.

Again subjective. You wont find anyone outside of the clique on here blaming him for the Plymouth goal. He made exactly the call 99% of keepers would make by not going for the cross and leaving his goal open. There was defenders between him and the ball and both defenders could have prevented the guy getting the shot away. The didnt and he picked out the top corner.

I think it’s the length of time in the air that makes it his for me. In my opinion. Again I’m not piling in it’s of no benefit. I want him to be better as that helps my team.

He doesn’t seem to be improving the areas which were a weakness a season or 2 ago. People have a right to question why no development has been made. On that I feel a bigger question needs asking of recruitment- why are we signing number 2 keepers? Surely we want a competition for places scenario
Then and now.

Not very flattering. But some of that is muscles!!!! It’s just under some padding.

Hello everyone must first say that this is absolutely something I’ve heard and can’t confirm, but friends of mine who mix in the same circles as Patto mentioned he was collected from the Casino midweek mortal drunk.

not trying to pile on the lad or owt but if true not brilliant professionalism is it (also I’m not trying to be a WUM or a gobshite here and also appreciate it’s convenient after he makes a mistake)
Poveda was dropped for being late to a meeting.

Wouldn’t this fall under some sort of disciplinary too?

He’s cost us numerous times throughout the season. I recall him being at fault in our loss to Plymouth too.

If true shows tge club aren’t afraid to come down hard on any lack of discipline look at poveda dropped because he was late for a team meeting
Professionalism is a minimum requirement, so they should come down hard
He was shit tbf. I remember somebody describing his appearances as being like the tin man
That’s all well and good but the replacement needs to be better. Bishop was even worse than Moore!

Young isn’t even getting his game for Salford now. Was hoping he’d be more involved next season but looking unlikely. Think we need to be looking at an upgrade in the summer.
