Poveda

Another player who takes on one player too many and loses the ball everytime.

Had the opportunity of getting a cross in from the by line having beaten a couple of players, instead, tries to beat the whole team.

Poor decision making which sometimes Roberts is guilty of. However, Roberts is a far better alternative normally. Today Paddy had a bit of a mare, but he wasn't alone in that.

He might have been shite today but Roberts was absolutely f***ing woeful today tbh didn’t do anything looked like he didn’t want to be on the pitch
That sums up most of Roberts performances, but apparently he drives the team 50 yards up the pitch when he gets the ball, fkn garbage and yet again no end product.

He did he was awful today he hid and when he did have it he lost possession instantly it was probably his worst game for us
Patrick Roberts was dispossed 0 times today, 1 unsuccessful dribble. 75% passes successful.

Ian Poveda was dispossed 4 times, 2 successful dribbles. 73% passes successful.

Pat didn't do great but he didn't give the ball away repeatedly. Poveda did, the stats prove it.

They do but they don't tell the full story, dispossessed while attempting to do something with ball or just dawdling, there is a difference.

Perhaps.

But giving the ball away 67% of the time isn't good. I'd rather retain the ball and continue the attack than have the other team attacking us!

Might benefit from a start where he can play without the intense pressure of trying to turn a game around. He's clearly got talent IMO but is rusty and trying too hard.

Maybe next time RLB decides he needs to rest Roberts, it might be worth giving him that chance.

Both Roberts and Poveda struggled. Common denominator is Rigg is out of form / knackered, and Hume offers little going forward. Every time they get the ball they are alone out wide with two men to beat. Roberts retained possession but Poveda had a run to see what would happen. Neither had many options though
