Alan Brazil talksport

If she did then fine I'll take your word for it. But still his comment in the scheme of the comments on here was just an opinion, and was it that controversial that warrants posters on here that haven't been offended by it, being labelled sexist or misogynist?
You've got to ask yourself why men are wanting to continually highlight what we all already know. The womens game is inferior. They will never be as good as men. It'll never pull the same crowds. It will never be as lucrative. And?

I have no interest in it at all.

Doesn't mean I've got to be trampling all over it at every opportunity.

You've got people banging on about how you can't get moved for womens football exposure. If it wasn't for this place I'd never ever notice it.

It was in context because they were discussing Man U as a whole, and this new project. And as it was the whole club, he had the opinion that most Man U fans didn't have an interest in the lasses side. How is that controversial?
Take this example.

Three lads are discussing a football match they played in. A lass joins them and talks about her teams game. No comparison. Nowt. Just mentions it. Do you think the lass should be told no one gives a toss about it?
He is just stupid and ignorant. He doesn't listen and lacks the erudition to express himself clearly so then starts to bluster and talk crap.
When it gets pointed out for clarity he just ignores it, then shuts it down.

So in your first paragraph there are you agreeing with the sentiment of Brazil's comment?

I mean he's paid to give his opinion whether some like it or not, and again I've got to say the actual comments weren't that controversial against some stuff say like Barton comes out with.

Probably better to give opinions on the topic and not make scenarios up.

Had the discussion been about interest across the two, and her arguing it's the same, fine, point out it's not. Because it's not.

He didn't though.

He spoke of project 21. The men's project. She expanded to reference a bigger project. One that both mission 21 and mission 1 sit under and his response was no one gives a toss.

Interestingly he didn't make it personal and resort to personal insults like Sheban did in the second part of their discussion.

She didn't say it was a priority. She said she agrees the men is the priority. So what's he garn on about? That's the point.

Didn't listen to it so don't know exactly what was said, but reports are claiming that the lass suggested Man United's women's team winning some silverware should be a primary target. Brazil said it's not important in the grand scheme of Man United football. If they were talking about Man United as a whole then I'd agree with Brazil in that the women's team winning some silverware is not a primary target for the vast majority of people who watch football.

Again, that's not the same as saying that women's football doesn't have a place in society; it's stating the obvious. 70 odd thousand people watch Man United, they've got 'fans' all 'round the world. Millions of them. A few thousand watch Man United's women's team.

He didn't make scenarios up, as the lasses team was brought up by Sheban while she was describing the project.
The bigger project. Yes. He couldve just said yep, that's another project.

She didn't. Have a listen. He says the men are the priority in terms of what the mission (21) is about and what fans care about and her response is she agrees and has already said that. And then adds but thst doesn't mean we have to disregard the women's team.

You don't think Brazil was being condescending the way he was talking to her?

She didnt
If the pertinent point was that I’m a poor parent why would I say you’ve missed it out, when you included it? It’s like dot to dot this!
You keep telling your daughter what she does is irrelevant mate. There's a good dad!

Good post.

Good post.
"Didn't listen....."
I think you need to listen to it
Crackers on here. First you've got people commenting on something they've said they didn't listen to. Then people liking the post where the person has said they've not listened to it

I don't care for women's football. I dont bother with it. Never hear of it either (outside of this place) but I can clearly see space hopper heed is needlessly being a tit.

"Great goal that. One touch to kill it, second to meg the defender and then he shows great composure to wrong foot the keeper"

"I don't rate him as a player".

No. Critique the point being made, it's merits etc. He's giving an opinion on something that isn't part of the debate.

Had she said the project is very important to fans you could understand him saying no one cares.

Just like your example if someone says a goal is really good and then him offering his opinion that he thinks the player is shite. Completely irrelevant to the point that it was a great goal.
It’s all part of the debate though, whether the plan as a whole is a good idea, whether it will succeed, whether it should include certain aspects (i.e. the womens team), etc, etc. There’s no hard and fast rule about which aspects of the plan can be debated or given opinion on, it’s quite alright to discuss any aspect you wish.

“Great goal, great finish, from a player who really hasn’t impressed since he’s joined the club, in fact he’s been poor” would this not be a perfectly acceptable comment to make? In fact I’m pretty sure Chris Sutton made such a comment about Cyril Dessers at Rangers after a game this season. You are allowed to digress about the point in question.

It's a bid mad on here to be fair. It's went from 'nice bits of skirts', and 'boilers',to dads crushing their daughter's enjoyment, to people not even listening to the clip!
