I know folks like to think that the New.Testament is all progressive and nice, and compared to the Old Testament it probably is, however.....

That is a topic of debate. There are references in our current translation of the bible about man and woman, husband and wife etc. Some religious people decide that such a reference is an exclusive definition and that because it says man and woman, you can not have anything other than that binary relationship. But when Jesus ate bread and fish, that doesn't mean you can't have a steak pie with chips.

Jesus is not attributed with any judgements, apart from don't judge, let you have not sinned etc.

Yup, the meaning and intent of a translation of a translation of a translation of an edited collection of 1800 year old stories will always be a topic of debate. That's the nature scripture. I do think though, that the link I posted above is pretty conclusive in showing that the New Testament condemns homosexuality.
