Really minor annoyances

When approaching a t junction to turn right, there's always, always a belled turning left who slows to look behind me to see if there's anything coming from the right, if yes they still pull up to the lines to try to see through me blocking my view left.
bellends who are turning right at a t junction and pull up to the line blocking the view to the right for those turning left.

I hate that. The last long trip I had, I had one driver. First of all they boxed me in because I could see a lorry a mile off but they were just keeping pace next to my back wheel as I eased off and eased off. They only finally got past when I dropped to 55 as I came right up against the lorry. So I moved out behind them, they trundled past the lorry at 60, moved in, I started to speed up to overtake them and was not really gaining on them, realised I'd go to 85, give up and pulled in behind. With me safely behind they dropped to 60. Three more times I tried to overtake and each time was pushing 90 and still could not get past, and each time they dropped their speed as soon as I pulled back in.

I only got passed them when we hit a bit of more congested traffic and they had other cars to "race" against. But otherwise, it was "I don't want to drive fast, but I don't want anyone in front".

It was not unique either. Over the years I have been driving, I've encountered people like that a few hundred times.
Just going off the amount of people who use this board there will be a fair few people on here who do that or are middle lane hoggers. It’s like some people just don’t know the basic rules.

Earning points on forums or systems to make it like a competition or game.

I've just signed up to a portal for a product we bought downloaded it, installed it and now I'm getting both a mail and a popup in my browser congratulating me for the 40 points earned, and that I'm contributing to the community.

Fuck off. It is not an achievement in my life, I'm not going to strive to give more to the community and have the bestest points tally. I installed some software that I bought. That is not an achievement it is just doing what you are supposed to do with it. If I buy a sausage sandwich from a van, the owner does not chase me down the street saying "well done" when I have eaten it.

Have a like

If you’re there first pull up to the line, if you’re there second hang back where you both can see. It’s not difficult
what if it's a junction where you can't see what's coming from the right by hanging back? if it's a steady stream of traffic from the left but nothing from the right are you supposed to wait until they get out until you move?
not after an argument, my post was more about drivers being irate at others doing exactly what they themselves are doing.

edit, i've slightly misread the post i was replying to, never mind.

Posties/flyer delivery folk dropping their friggin’ elastic bands all owa the place.

I’m not sure it classes as a minor annoyance because it really fucks me off to the point I’ve rang the Post Office about it and they brush me off with they’ll retrain their staff.

I think this thread has somewhat meandered away from the 'minor' in 'minor annoyances' part of the thread title
But it is very therapeutic to have a "rant at an assortment of things" thread.

On that subject, I nearly typed "rant at random things". Random has become a standard word to mean no particular defined thing. That is not random. The improper use annoys me.

Today, to me, a Toucan is a random animal, picked at random via

Me getting annoyed at the dog lying next to me farting is not a random annoyance. It is very specific but quite different from the driving annoyances discussed above.

Don't like phone calls myself tbh. If there's a text option much prefer
I find it is more efficient to have a conversation. You can ask supplementary questions, seek clarification and help build relationships that are either impractical or more time consuming using text/email.
