Yes I’m surprised. My hunch is that this is us trying to get a better feeIf he stays, I suspect he'll just run down his deal and leave for a minimal fee in the summer/next January.

I agree. He's got more potential than Clarke and Mundle, from the snippets I've seenI would suggest you're not much of a judge of young football talent.
Watson for me has everything Clarke has like dribbling ability and goals but he also has much more pace and a better left foot too.
He'll go far in the game. All defenders hate pace and he has it to burn. Combined with skill and goal threat they are a very potent mix.
It’s a message board mate no one’s opinion is any better or worse than anyone else’s.To be fair, if you can't see Watson is very talented, then it's hard to disagree with the bit you bolded.
I’ve been following the thread all day mate, I still haven’t got a clue what’s going on.
Spent nothing? Isidor 6 Million permenantDoes my head in, flogging our best young player for f***ing £8m. What an absolute joke.
And what a surprise we’ve spent fuck all yet again.
Of course it is.Yes I’m surprised. My hunch is that this is us trying to get a better fee
I'm not against trying him on the right, in fact I would welcome it. Mundle plays well as an inverted winger though, i.e cuts in off the wing and scores, much like Clarke did and what Roberts should do, but can't.Can’t wait for the day we have Mundle Watson competing for the left wing spot, feels like forever since we have had a proper winger there who can cause problems and chip on with goals. I can see Mundle being tried on the right when both are back fit.
You're always making things upHe's already agreed terms and done a medical. As soon as Brighton match our valuation he's gone.
I think he is a fantastic talent. Those in the know have never shut up about him over the last couple of years. I remember being gobsmacked when first watching an 18 years old Gascoigne at Newcastle. As you say, it's nowt to do with a lack of appearences. He's one of the brightest talents our academy has produced and has tore up the u21, PL2 leagues since he was 16. Brighton also agree on his talent. His development trajectory has been immense.
It shocks me that so many of fans keep bleating about his lack of appearances, when that has nothing to do with Watson. He's said publically he was frustrated at not breaking through sooner and was a little unlucky to be playing the same position as Clarke and Mundle.
If the story/amount is true that's very odd from the fella upstairs.
It won’t be nothing. We will be due a substantial compensation fee set by a tribunal as he’s under a certain age.Spent nothing? Isidor 6 Million permenant
Watson wont sign a new contract - I'd rather 8 million now than nothing next year (if it is 8 million)
Well at age 18 I would have appreciated the day outYou must be logged on to see media items

Does he though? He's 18 man and had about 6 starts for the first team. He looks a lot better than Clarke did for us in league one, when he was 21 at the time.
