Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Cant see how this will have done him any harm if he is staying . In August he was an under 21 hoping for a break , in January hes the subject of 8 figure negotiation. He cant say we're doing him no good and his confidence should be sky high . Now he just needs to play to valuation, being petulant or disappointed isnt an option.

He's already done a medical. I'd be shocked if he's a safc player come 11pm

the club need to give him the contract he deserves hes a once in a generation talent. local talented wingers of his quality dont come around often
Once in a generation talent for who?

Sunderland or in general?

He’s played about 20 minutes of football it might be time to chill out a bit like

Also helps us to have a tabled offer if it comes down a tribunal in 18 months time

He's one of the brightest talents our academy has produced and has tore up the u21, PL2 leagues since he was 16. Brighton also agree on his talent. His development trajectory has been immense.

It shocks me that so many of fans keep bleating about his lack of appearances, when that has nothing to do with Watson. He's said publically he was frustrated at not breaking through sooner and was a little unlucky to be playing the same position as Clarke and Mundle.

For those fine upstanding citizens who have been grafting all day and just clocked off work, can somebody kindly summarise the last 5 hours of this thread and where we stand now into one paragraph please?

Because he's an 18 year old kid at his home town club dying to get away for a bit extra money.
You know that do you? Dying to get away??? 😂😂😂😂 kid is deciding on a massive decision on his future. But he deserves criticism? Your either a wind up or a bully. You don't know what's going on so why assume? You seem to want to stick the knife into someone at first opportunity it's canny sad to be honest!

I've heard what's going on from a very good source. "Money talks"

From what we can gather he was given permission to travel down ahead of a deal being agreed.

We said him coming was dependent on us getting a player off them as his replacement.

Now being reported by Romano that the deal is off. Presumably because the lad didnt want to come here on loan from Brighton.

Wonder if their player didn't fancy the loan in the championship so we've binned the deal off, which seems likely as he is still getting a decent amount of game time in the league for them. Fair play to the club if so.

Watson looks like a real talent so i'll be pleased if he stays.
