Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

It's the player who should be getting stick not the club. What would those who want to keep Watson do? Be held to ransom by an injured player who has no intentions of signing a new contract. It's not as if we haven't got cover and it may well be we have somebody signing who can play either wing.
Some just like to blame the club constantly I think, they’re still in the league one mindset.

Yeah, it is the way of the world now mate, heads get turned with the amounts on offer
It’s really shit for the game in this country though. Any Championship team with decent young players just has them taken away by middle of the road PL teams as they have the finances to take a £10 million gamble and pay the player life changing money to turn their head. You then have the parachute money giving relegated teams better opportunities which makes it very difficult for other clubs to get promotion the right way. Hence we are seeing most Championship clubs relying on 4 or 5 loans to try and make the leap.

And then looked an absolutely superb footballer
He’s got talent, but let’s not try & rehash this that he came into the team this season & been some kind of revelation. It’s been hit & miss & some matches he’s looked like a young kid who was playing his first senior matches, some matches you can see there’s potential & talent there.

Not that I expect him to, but he hasn’t had the same performance levels of Clarke or Mundle yet.

To say he’s came in & looked an absolutely superb footballer is a huge exaggeration

Spoke to one of Watson's best mates yesterday he plays for safc under 21s btw and is in a relationship with a family member of mine.

Told me that Tommy wants the move. He also told me how much Tommy will make from it and it's a massive amount.
That's disappointing of him if true. Some players just don't have sense and are badly advised. There is no place better for his development than here, just need to look at all the others who have left too early and flopped.

Personally I'd kill to learn my trade at my boyhood club, before leaving when ready, but I am not as money orientated as some. Maybe it shows he doesn't have enough confidence in himself if he wants to claw at the first big money deal that comes along, maybe he feels he might not turn out good enough and never get another one.

He's second choice for us marra...this is good for us

I do wonder if the similarities to Clarke boost people's opinion on Watson. It's very recent memory how good clarke was for us and Watson has shown he has potential to be like clarke. Watson has been good and done a job but for me I'd still have Mundle in over him when fit
Definitely this. He looks a bit like him as well.
