Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

if he won't sign a new deal there's nothing the club can do. we're not going to let him run down his value

just would rather it happened a few weeks ago as at best now we'll probably end up with a panic loan replacement unless the club have got something going on that's been kept quiet

Probably because he only has 18 month left. If he wanted to sign it would be fine by now…
Again no evidence that hes been in any contract negotiations?or is there?I refer to my complicated math puzzle! There is no evidence for any of this but many rumours! The only fact known is that he has 18 months left on a mandated 3 year contract and that brighton are interested! Personally i think it would be daft to sell him in this window as he could help us get promotion and in the summer we could probably match Brightons offer in terms of wages and he could stay close to his family !

Hope has changed from deal only happens with adingra to or up the offer.

No doubt we'll get another 2m and not spend it

Perhaps Speakman dropped the ball with Watson over his contract. There was a big fuss made publically when Ballard (again), Jobe and Rigg were given new contracts, but Watson wasn't. That's pretty humiliating and frustrating for him if the club are telling him how much they rate him.
Humiliating for him? He’s still got 18 months left on his current deal ffs
