Very tough for a lad who's had 6 or 7 starts and a few sub appearances. They must rate him very highly and/or they have a sneak that Brighton or someone else will come back with an improved offer. The fact clubs are bidding that sort of money for him suggests football people are seeing a lot in this lad's future.

They had a gentlemen’s agreement with Clarke that I’d a certain fee came in he could go after rejecting a few PL bids in January
