That's enough to strike terror into anyone, like the price of a pie at some away grounds in London.I reckon he would have hated the banjo’s playing and was intimidated by the sight of our teeth![]()
Carlisle would love a Holloway, there’s barely anyone as experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to the football league and knows how to set a team up. What they’ve actually got is pretty much an experiment - not what you need when you’re fighting for your life.
Williamson’s first game was away to Swindon, a 2-0 in September win which put Carlisle ahead of them. Swindon got Holloway in soon after and after a shaky start have 7 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats in his last 12 - 3rd in the form table and on the verge of the top half. Carlisle are bottom.
Pretty sure Holloway has only had the luxury of bringing in 2 loan signings to turn things around, meanwhile Williamson has had over £1m to spend and has brought in 13 players now. A remarkable contrast and goes to show you can rely on as many stats and data as you want but you can’t beat an experienced old head who knows the game.
Glad you had a great day out Swindon on Tour, even if it was at our expense! See you in a couple of sesasons.
That goes a long way imo IH knows what works & has connections plus a knowledge of players. Sometimes a slight tinker with what you have beats the hell out of mass change.Carlisle would love a Holloway, there’s barely anyone as experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to the football league and knows how to set a team up. I’m always willing to give managers a chance mate but the bloke needs to go now, he’s had enough time and seems to be going backwards!Need to act now and appoint another Manager.
Still think they can get out of this but listening to Williamson after the result yesterday sounded like Kennedy a broken Manager.
Would take your owners over our lot.
Bringing in that amount of players to save your bacon is a gamble, and this gamble looks to have failed broadly on a few aspects. MW was a broken manager/hc already then blasted his new budget and hoped something would come right without looking at the personalities of the players he's signing but that's only how I read into it from events. He'd have been better off taking a couple of experienced on-field team guiders [i.e. talkers] in games, but it seems he's going to do it his way which usually leads to dismissal. Listening to an MW post or pre match says he knows what's happening to him.Need to act now and appoint another Manager.

No he's not going backwards he's going sideways; that's what the posession based football he plays amounts to. The owners must be able to see in games how easy it is for other teams to pick you off wich directly points to whoever is sending a team out to play like that.I’m always willing to give managers a chance mate but the bloke needs to go now, he’s had enough time and seems to be going backwards!
The owners have been brilliant but their lack of knowledge and suitable advisors has become evident.
As a Heed fan, I find this strange as MW was brilliant at Gateshead and had them playing some fantastic quick one touch football. Horses for courses maybe.I dont understand why they haven't sacked the manager.
Its his tippy happy shit that's been the root of problems all season.
I don't live far from The Heed's home pitch so I knew what some of the football played up there was like but for whatever reason it hasn't worked out at Carlisle after his stay at MK (where he was apparently under pressure so it was a surprise when Carlisle took him). I accept that whatever style you try to play depends on the players at your disposal so who knows? As a Heed fan, I find this strange as MW was brilliant at Gateshead and had them playing some fantastic quick one touch football. Na, Sheridan’s ran his race as far as Carlisle’s concerned mate, left under a bit of a cloud last time amid claims of bullying and drinking. He certainly doesn’t suit the new owner’s clean-cut model either!Bringing in that amount of players to save your bacon is a gamble, and this gamble looks to have failed broadly on a few aspects. As for your owners, let's see what comes out of it in the next few weeks/months over IH and his probable request for £ backing to develop the squad. Then if nothing positive arises I'll say your concerns were well-founded. Obviously I knew nothing about the history so this will arguably open my eyes a bit further about your club/ownership.

Names in the frame as your next manager: Does Sheridan have a chance or is it more likely to be someone that adds a bit of steel?
I got Sheri's name from your website. Evatt would be a decent bet but Warnock getting it would be absolutely superb. He's another bloke that knows the game (like Holloway), has stature & connections. Getting him on board would also have the media moving into Carlisle. I'm all for getting him in til the end of the season but Torquay might have different ideas although I'm sure he likes a challenge. Get him in to shake the playing rabble up if he'd accept what's offered. Time to put some money on the table to rescue the club.Na, Sheridan’s ran his race as far as Carlisle’s concerned mate, left under a bit of a cloud last time amid claims of bullying and drinking. Can’t stand the bloke personally, but Ian Evatt’s name’s popped up quite a bit over the last few days. Karl Robinson and Derek Adams (another knob) have been mentioned aswell, even though they’re both in work at the minute. Jon Brady always did a decent job at Northampton and is available. Personally I’d love to see them offer Neil Warnock the job for 3 months and offer him a survival bonus, I bet he’d keep them up no problem with the players at his disposal. Would be cracking viewing aswell!
Is it still that James Phillips? With the new barrow manager coming straight from the national league maybe they will pick up some quality in the summer from that league
Listened in on the radio and deserved a medal! How lumsdon puts up with that infantile in the commentary box i dont know

Right after a January transfer window signing a bunch of players he wanted to suit his system.Williamson sacked.
Which says a bit about his set ups, training & game instruction. He was allowed a roll of the dice with what he'd brought in & it went badly wrong. I suspect the squad are beginning to show signs of implosion.Right after a January transfer window signing a bunch of players he wanted to suit his system.
Next manager/hc very important because he'll have to work with what's been left there to get results.Williamson sacked.
I'm a bit gutted for him. He did a phenomenal job at Gateshead developing a style of play that allowed a team with no financial competitiveness to outplay teams week in, week out wit far better resources. The blueprint is still in place at Gateshead now as a result of him. That's two clubs that have seen things they aren't happy with, maybe the level pressures have things to do with it but his aversion to change a style that doesn't work is a get-rid flashing sign to owners. When things are going well it isn't a problem but when they aren't the pressure mounts very quickly as the paying fans at Carlisle have demonstrated.I'm a bit gutted for him.
