It’s just all based on wishful thinking, but maybe not deluded. Would make sense for both teams and the player himself.

Just makes sense. Mundle is crocked and even when back will need time to get back to match readiness. Big chance that Watson will get sold.

Clarke can only play for us or ipswich for the rest of the season. Suits all parties
 
I’d imagine Ipswich still owe us a very large chunk (£10m?) of the reported £18m.
If we can loan him with a view to buy back for the same price we sold him for I’d be all over that.
If we are to sell Tommy, giving them back the hypothetical £8m they’ve already paid us and getting JC back would MASSIVELY soften the blow.

He’s been a failure for them, why on earth would we give them back the same money they gave us? That would be awful business sense on our part.

He’s been playing inside. His strength (as we know) is playing as an out and out winger hugging the touch line.
Ok, let’s offer them £15m. They’d probably go for that. By getting him back we’d be giving ourselves a big promotion boost.
All of this is only if Watson is to leave. I wouldn’t contemplate any of the above if he stays.

Your point was half correct though it was Pritchard who moved infield in one of Beale's tight/compact formations. Ironically Prichard was the only player apart from Dan Neil who attempted to get on the ball and show some composure. Though the gap that was left when he moved central meant Gordon was left with Hume isolated time and time again.

Any sell on value greatly reduced unless after relegation they integrate him and the he's effectively starting again.

Did we insert a sell in fee though, as Spurs did. Could get quite messy in terms of valuations and add ons etc 😁

Wages would kill it though. But if Watson is off then Jack Clarke at this level would be excellent.

I don’t see why we would pay what we sold him for. Currently he’s proven he’s not premier league level, they took the risk expecting him to step up which hasn’t happend, now that could be down the style of play and tactics but as of now he’s a very good championship player and that’s not worth 15 million.

That’s an excellent bargaining position. Let them pay the depreciation just like when you buy a new car and sell it on.
 
Is this actually a possibility? Pages and pages about it on this thread but it seems odd to me Ipswich would loan him back. If nothing else if they go down they know they have a huge asset for the championship ready to go.

Tommy will be better, keep him, get him fit, play him and get him to sign a new contract
