Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

But earning more than a million quid a year he can take his family with him if he really feels he needs to. You’re right he probably isn’t going to play in the premier league but they seem to be really good at this plus no reason he can’t go on loan to the championship. So basically still plays at the same level and earns miles more at the same time
He’d get that money in the summer either here or when he moves having played the remainder of the season in a promotion race. I just don’t see the point in this from the lads point of view. He’s going to get that money in the summer either way.

Way too much sentiment washing around this thread.
Sometimes you need to profit as a business for the overall greater good. That's the model and this is the first true example of it.

Ironically, Watson is exactly the type of player that the model is looking for

He does have a rare ability to get past players without looking like he's doing much.

I'm going to say that this is all manoeuvering for a decent first team contract

Decent chance, and if his reported salary is correct, and the reported salaries of others who barely feature are correct, then I'd say he has a case.

Heres an idea, they could buy him and loan him back to us, theyve done that successfully previously e.g Mac Allister. Means we bring in £20m in cash and bring in a £20m loanee 😂

Cheers
Where has 10m come from? They only offered 2m in the summer and contract has 8 months less on it now.
I would not expect them to offer more than 4m.
They can offer that they like but as he’s under contract to us we cannot give hold out for as much as we want and if they don’t up their bid they don’t get him

There’s an even bigger profit on the line that dwarfs the £10m or so. That profit will be there in a few months time should we fail to go up.

IF it comes to it and the offer is too good to refuse then sell with loan until end of season?

He is a local lad and would still give 100% while here.

Would rather keep him like and see him develop with us as this is another kid who is going to the top.

If there's talk of 20 mill for watson, having played 4 or 5 games, what are jobe and riggs valuations.

Rigg has 50 games and is a year younger!
I think it’s common knowledge that Rigg is highly sought after and will command a big fee. He’s a different beast, can play a number of positions, potential to dominate a game, especially as he gains experience and matures.

Bigger contract. There’s no way he goes for less than £30m … however, out of all our players, I hope we keep him for the next 10+ years.

Massive shame for TW, he looks electric, but 18 months left and his counsel is made up of 2 Sunderland hating bellends, we’ve got no option but to push for a big fee and move on.

Haway man a Horden lad is worth £80m 😆 having survived the numbered streets in his youth. (Nee idea if he is from around here 😂) riggy will be worth £30m plus imho same for jobe.
