Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Aye mate that’s why he’s getting sold to Brighton
Did this not start by Brighton just making a bid of the lad? The suddenly he's become the biggest Judas known to man? Or have they simply made an offer for a player they like the look of?

I'll say it again, no one knows what the situation is. The only thing for sure is people on here and the likes of twitter are definitely making stuff up in their heads 🤣

The club have developed him since he was a kid. He’s got a clear pathway into the first team and he wants out after 12 first team appearances.

Don’t tell me the club won’t offer him what he wants when in the last 12 month we have agreed terms with Patterson, Hume, Cirkin, Ballard, jobe etc
So what about when a player gives years and years of their life to the club. In fact let’s just use Watson, joins when he was about 7 , gives up every weekend of his childhood. Probably 3 nights during the week, all the travelling there and back and his family probably doing the same and that’s before his school time being squeezed. He gets to 18 and the club just fuck him off and don’t offer him a pro deal. Is that ok? Or does the loyalty only have to work one way?

Also if memory serves me right wasn’t it a right faff on to get Watson to sign his first pro deal.
Months after he turned 17 aye
They're "entitled" to have a pop at someone for something that hasn't actually happened?
For the 2nd time, the osot was talking hypothetically about if he chose to leave.

Hes entitled to choose to leave and people are entitled to have an opinion on it. Should we kiss his arse like?

Bent fucked us though. He was our star player, waited until we couldn’t line up a replacement and was a sideward move too. Compare that to T. Watson.
Do as I say, not as I do then.

Standard.

Bent left 2 weeks before the window closed.... if whatsoever goes it'll be about 24 hours. So the replacement craic doesn't wash.

What does that bit in bold mean?

He has signed a pro deal and we offered a further new deal.

No just don't make stuff up like you know what's actually going on

Yep that’s completely fine, he’s either good enough or he’s not.

Just imagine if the player is doing what he sees in his best interests and the club in response is doing what they see in theirs ? No blame attached, whether he stays or goes

This is not slagging him off.
They are just the bare facts.
He is 18 years old. He has made 6 (SIX) starts for Sunderland AFC.
IF he is demanding a guaranteed start when fit, he needs to look in the mirror and realise he is just an inexperienced kid.
Now….I do not for one moment actually believe that he IS making those demands.
I mean SURELY NOT.
But to be honest, I gave up trying to work out the thinking processes of Professional Footballers decades ago.
