Jack Clarke

He’s definitely been given enough chance. Broadhead was injured until December. Very hard to come into a side trying to establish themselves at the level with the vast majority around him trying to do the same. Maybe it would be wise to try him on the left but I can’t argue with McKenna. He somehow got last years squad to 96 points.

Think the level is just a cut above a player new to the level with zero confidence. See most of our new signings. If he stays next year in the championship under McKenna would see a totally different player
Fair enough. Do you see relegation as inevitable? Of the 3 promoted teams I thought your lot had the best chance. Today wasn't great of course...

You reckon?

I thought Clarke was a smashing signing for Ipswich as you play in transition a lot and he’s quick and direct. I saw your early season goals v Man City and (I think) Liverpool and I thought he’d suit you.

leif d is a creative player from LB. But if he’s your widest player in the front line, there’s no need for Clarke. Szmodics yes, who can play inside left, but Clarke should be the widest player

I’ve backed you to stay up all season. And fuck it I still do

In reality no, 3 points from Wolves and we have to play them at home. The loss wasn’t half as bad as the fact Wolves won.

I think it’s inevitable that all 3 that came up will go back down. We’ve played Southampton twice 1-1 & 1-2 and Leicester at home 1-1 and both were comfortably the worst sides we’ve played. It’s possible to stay up- see Forest, Bournemouth, Brentford etc but it’s much much harder than I thought. We all crave promotion but I don’t think going down would be an entirely bad thing for us

wouldn't be surprised if this happens now. we must have known a bid for Watson was likely given the interest in him previously and then letting the sheesh go out on loan. something must be in the pipeline with Isidor being made permanent to free a loan spot be that for Clarke or someone else

would work for Ipswich aswell as gets him game time ready for next seasons championship or puts him the shop window if they want to sell. we already know he'd be one of the best players in the division so he's bound to have a good few months if it happened

not sure Mundle would be impressed mind. waited patiently for his chance and more than took it only to then 'lose' his spot in the team to the same person he couldn't get a game over

The PL is brutal like. I'm torn on promotion to be honest - we all want our teams to win every game, but I've been there as a SC holder in the PL years - scraping around, hoping for 7 or 8 wins a year to finish 4th bottom. Feels like it's become harder in recent years too...

It's a waste of a footballer. No shame in not quite having what it takes for the top league but being among the best in the second division.
My thoughts as well, brilliant in the Championship but doubt he'll make it in the Premier. Again that game against the mags he couldn't get past their full back once

At the end of the day, if they aren’t planning to use him (bar a few times where they’d bring him on for 5 mins), then it makes sense to loan him to us where he’d be a starter every game when fit - certainly until Mundle gets fully fit in March/April time.

Even then he’d get more than 5 mins every couple of games.
How could anyone not be happy to have Clarke back, it would be a tremendous signing.
This. It f***ing baffles me.

It strengthens the first team massively, he is top quality in this league and knows the majority of the squad.

It’s a no brainer if he’s up for it and there’s a deal possible.

How many loan spots we got left cos that's all we will be getting if anything

We’ve done pretty much everything right on and off the pitch in the last couple of years. I can take getting hammered by the top teams but when sides like Palace and Brighton hardly get out of second gear it’s depressing. Didn’t think I’d be seeing us in this position while losing at Fleetwood and Accrington only a couple of years ago but it’s a long old season. More games in the champ anyway
