Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Eiran "98th percentile for tackles won and 96th percentile for interceptions" Cashin has clocked over 3,000 Championship minutes. He's on a different scale to Watson for the time being
Bit pissed off at losing him to Brighton mainly cos he's been at Derby since he was five years old, £10 million about right as long as there's good sell-ons. Sad thing is I'd be amazed if he ever gets a run in the first team there. Most likely purchased for financial reasons, loaned out with loan club paying his wages ala Louie Barry going to Hull for over a million just in loan fees. Cashins good but not got the athleticism and pace for the premier league. Shame when all the young kids are being hoovered up and horded by prem clubs

We’d get maybe 6-8 million in a tribunal if we just let him run his contract down. It needs to be worth it for us, even if the player is pushing. Everyone is different, he clearly wants the move, and maybe it’s to set him up for life.

Aye but you wouldn’t get a sell on percentage

Not that I want it to happen

He has said publicly that even at 17/18 he was frustrated that he wasn't getting 1st team appearances, which is quite a thing to say when he had Clarke and Mundle ahead of him.

He will most likely still have Mundle ahead of him, so it could come down to what he'll settle for with regards appearances, although we would still offer him a lot more than any Premiership 1st team will.

I think we need to make a statement by slapping a really decent contract in front of him.

2m  they can have Ba for that
They can get fucked for 2m!

Tell him he’s staying until summer at least. He’s under contract and worth helping us get up.
Still derisory.
If you compare him to Jack Clarke who scored 2 in 22 for Leeds at 18 then went to spurs for £10m 5 years ago then I think it’s more than fair to say these low ball offers are derisory. Maybe they’re just designed to let him know clubs are interested and not to sign an extension with us but if we are going to sell then £10m is the benchmark.

Some crazy overreactions here. He looked good in the very limited games he played but people have gone way overboard since he got injured. We don’t know what is going on behind the scenes but maybe it’s him wanting the move. Considering his background id guess a premier league contract and set for life whilst his friends and family are all scratching around on at best PIP or minimum wage. I’d rather he stayed but it’s not the disaster some are making it out to be
