**LUCAS RENNEY PLAYS ‘SONGS OF PRAISE’**
Exactly twenty-one years - to the very day, no less! - after the album’s original 2004 release, The Golden Virgins’ legendary songwriter and frontman Lucas Renney returns to Sunderland’s beloved Pop Recs to play The GVs’ immortal ‘Songs Of Praise’ in its entirety.
This is a full-band show, featuring all your favourite nearly-hits such as ‘Light In Her Window’, ‘I Am A Camera’, ‘Staying Sober’ and ‘Renaissance Kid’, songs which have not been played in a full-band format since The Golden Virgins broke up in 2006.
So, come! Dance! Laugh! Cry! And relive your glorious, wasted youth…to the wondrous, righteous, soul-shattering sounds of ‘Songs Of Praise’!
I'll let you know how mint it was
Hue and Cry tomorrow night.
Only know two songs but the wife is a fan.
Few beers before it starts so quite looking forward to it.
Aye.Is it a sell out?
Not going myself, but sounds like a good’un

That sounds classHell of a gig at the Isis last night, Mik Artistik is a real one off, extremely funny and quick witted
The support act was some middle aged bloke from shields with a Sunderland training jacket on rapping over some beats he played out of his phone , during one number he had his mate on stage in a Pop Robson face mask and maracas dancing around like Bez whilst the main lad rapped about going to roker park in the 70s. Was very odd
That sounds class![]()
Where did you get it from?It was bizarre
On a side note - i picked up a copy of Gan On magazine and read it this morning, not sure if it's the first edition of it, not seen it before. It's from December and says that it's monthly so I'll look out for a more up to date edition
It's basically just all about the Sunderland music scene, interviews, reviews, gig listings etc... it's nicely put together, not too big , and quite funny in places.
Already noted a few bands down from there that I'll check out

I hope it takes off as it was dead informative and it was entirely about Sunderland music scene so every article was relevant and worth reading
