Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

If he wont sign a contract, then its goodbye. We dont want people here running their contracts down and the club under Speakman wont allow it to happen.
This summer coming we might be in the prem! so could offer him a better contract then!....I think the contract situation is a smoke screen used as an excuse if he is sold !If he is sold this january it will clearly be to raise funds towards buying a decent striker nothing more!

£5 million, no chance. £10 million bye bye, but it will also be bye bye career.

I'd prefer Mundle to Tommy and if he won't sign a long term deal, off to Brighton with you. I can't see him getting game time here with Mundle back and to play in the Premier, no chance.

18 months is not that short like,

Bye bye career?

This lad is dynamite and will have a long and successful career in football no matter what

Why do people post this stuff

I’ve watched Watson with the under 21 s for a while and have been very impressed with him. Some say he will be second fiddle when Mundle is fit but I’m not sure about that. I’m pretty sure given game time he will impress as he continues to learn and improve.
He’s just starting out in the first team and tbh I hope he stays with us and makes his name with us. If we have to sell him I hope we strive to get the best possible price for him cos IMO he’s going to the top.

Brighton at the moment are considerably ahead of us. They have the footballing infrastructure and squad that we should aspire to in a few years but even if we were promoted this season that won’t change overnight. The 3 teams promoted this season make up the bottom 4 with a big gap to 16th. Brighton are an established premier league side pushing for Europe.

All that aside I think Watson will stay as he is a local lad and we are on the up. Obvious would be to convince him to stay until the summer on the basis of a key role and lucrative contract in waiting with an agreement that if we don’t go up we will let him go.
No doubt about that. Just been talking about us buying Bridcutt and Buckley from them as if it was yesterday,it's a good 10 years ago now 🤣

I also think he'll play ahead of mundle in no time at all, providing he stays.

Brighton are a decent club - like it or not.

There’s no point I selling him now unless it’s a ridiculous offer. In 6 months time we might be a PL club and can offer far better terms.

If he did run his contract down, we’d still get a hefty sum at tribunal.

Make sense?

Not one bit. The model isn't to give players away who they believe have a good future for next to nothing.

As said, 5 million won't go far in the English market, I don't think we'll even get that.

There's only two ways he leaves:

1) The club aren't convinced by his ability to progress and so 5 million or whatever it is good value.

2) The lad wants to leave for the money, which would mean he is being very badly advised.
