SAFC Milk Cup Heroes Reunite For 40th Anniversary Celebration

84-85 was a dire season. From being 7th in October, I think from December we only won a further 3 games in the league all season. Ashurst a poor manager (although Cowie probably gave him buttons to spend).

Still don't know why he dropped Westy and I was so disappointed that this is my only abiding memory.

Why were you threatened with arrest?
Not sure, I think it was a threat, probably without substance, but it had been a long day and we couldn’t be bothered with the hassle so turned around. They obviously clocked/ checked our number plate. At the time I thought it might be a follow on from the miners strike otherwise perhaps they didn’t want any possible conflict with Sheffield fans.
I complained to police complaints commission but got nowhere.
These days it could be recorded on your phone so would have had evidence.

My favourite wembley final. Before anyone thinks I've gone mentally insane, can I just say it's the only final we got to go to with three generations of mlfs....Me,my brother my Dad and my Grandad.i'm well in my 50s now,my granddad's no longer here and my dad's now unable to go to matches beyond health issues. Will never forget the day we had together though.

Ashurst dropping west for Wallace, unforgiveable
Westy would have taken the penalty as well
I was there too. We had a terrible team then with Wallace and Howard Gayle up top.
Wallace pen miss was the turning (or turning) point)
Long journey for a shit result. At least when I saw Swindon beat us we saw a subsequent turn of fortune

Few bricks through our coach window on way. Got into Wembley just as the teams came out for more misery. Coach broke down on way home near Leicester. Got home at 8:00 the next morning. Mind I did get the

I went to all the home games and down Chelsea and Wembley.

All my mates went to Watford but I'd just started my first proper job and I couldn't get time off.

We completely outplayed Chelsea at home, never gave them a sniff.

2 bus loads of us went down to Chelsea and we didn't get within half a mile of the ground. Turned away by the coppers, 'full'. Ken Bates the arsehole hadn't made it all ticket.
It was all ticket. The horrible **** just opened half our end to his cockney *****. Will hate that bastard till the day I die because of that night. Got to the ground but couldn't get in.

99% certain it wasn't all ticket. After the first leg he wanted to maximumise the crowd as obviously Chelsea were now rank outsiders after the first leg 2-0 defeat.
Wasn't all ticket, althought seating tickets were available
Steve Cram was sat near some friends of mine, he almost got a kicking
