Durham Second XI 2025

With the fixtures due out soon i wonder how the 2nd XI will get on this season. Scott Borthwick 2nd Xl Captain and Mentor will be an interesting watch this coming season.

With the fixtures i wonder if they get rid of the T20 double headers this season aswell as last season and when will they fit in the first day of the 2nd XI Championship as last season it was in August.

Maybe double headers with the Women's team for some games?

Venue's would be interesting also, i wonder if any games are at the Riverside.

Any players you are looking forward to seeing from the academy and who do you reckon are the next stars to come through?

There’s an article in The Cricketer about the restructuring of the 2nd XI Championship which might be interesting. Unfortunately, it’s behind a paywall. Can anyone who subscribes please post the article (or the gist of it)?

The Second XI Championship has undergone a revamp, with the number of games per county reduced to five and separate blocks in the calendar reserved for friendlies to give counties greater flexibility over their schedules

Used to be canny when the played at Ashbrooke
Yeah. It’s nice to see them at Darlington, but perhaps they could consider finding room for Ashbrooke instead of playing home games in Northumberland and Yorkshire. The counties don’t exactly help us oppose franchise cricket by suggesting that they think playing in the county matters or anything like that.
