Adil Aouchiche

I don't have the stats to hand but I'm positive le fee got to the byline about 3 or 4 times, more than any other player I'd have guessed ?
First half most likely. 2nd half he got marked out the game and was totally ineffective. Should either have been moved more centrally or replaced

Thought he was doing well recently the games he was involved but then not involved the last games.

Connelly scored then didn’t get a look in.

Mayenda scored on Tuesday then doesn’t start.
Aouchiche has even less end product than Roberts, he looks lively, has a trick or two, but very rarely does it end in a goal being scored (which a lot of people forget is the purpose)
The number of times he loses the ball, a pass or cross goes astray or a shot hits Row Z is ridiculous, he's not good enough.

Literally set up Roberts and Aleksic goals in the few games he's played mate

Thought he should have come yesterday.

Good the on the ball and carries it well. Far more likely to see a game out that way than bringing Hjelde on.

I guess it's the old adage some people prescribe to. Offense is the best defence. Not RLB obviously.

I wouldn't mind seeing what AA Le Fee and Rigg would be like behind Wilson. Through balls and tricks all ower. I guess we'll never know.

And that means he should be a regular starter despite the overwhelming amount of times he messes things up ? Are you saying Le Bris is wrong to want rid of him ?
Until mundle and Watson are fit, absolutely he should be starting. Le Fée should be playing more centrally with Neil and Jobe.

Yes l, I think Le Bris is wrong. It's obvious that him and Aouchiche don't see eye to eye most likely due to something that went on between the pair at Lorient where he was the one who sold him to us.

The performance of the club is much bigger than Le Bris' ego. He needs to swallow his pride and use players who can help us win matches and play well rather than letting things that went on in the past get in the way.

He's a good option when we're playing a direct open game.

He probably wasn't selected yesterday for the same reason we went with the formation we did: the opposition were expected to play with a deep backline and 11 men behind the ball, which means you need a more patient build-up and bodies in midfield to try to collect the second ball.

Sensible tactic, sensibly chosen players, sensible substitution at the end to try to hold the lead for the last five minutes.

It’s such a lazy argument to say Aouchice has no end product. He’s put chances on a plate for people in the 3 or 4 games he played. We needed players with a bit of guile like him to break a team like that down yesterday.

Think that’s it for him though he needs to go for his own benefit and play week in week out somewhere, rather than wasting away on the bench.

Nobody knows what went on ,But Reggie got shot, then the next club that he played for tore his 2 year contract to enable us to have him for nowt. There was no deal between us and Lorient. So nowt to do with Reggie Ego unless his next club manager had an ego aswell.Hopefully he goes soon we are trying to build a prem team and he will never be that.

🤔

He signed for Lorient from St Etienne in September 2023. He signed for Sunderland in September 2024.

Le Bris was Lorient coach from 2022 to 2024.

he should be starting wide left and Regis should have the balls to stand someone down for Enzo. Granted Adil wont be as good a player per se as the dropped midfielder but the team will benefit

We can’t keep on quoting Watson and Mundle in any conversation. Mundle has been out for months who knows how long he takes to get up to speed and how we will play on his return. And Watson is a kid who’s played a couple of good games for the first team and has also now had a longish injury. Neither are affecting games for us now!

It’s definitely an odd one. I think the club have realised he’s 3rd choice behind Mundle and Watson, I think we gave him a long contract and so the club are trying to offload him. We put him in the shop window, and now we’re letting him know there’s no future for him here.

I’m hoping that if he’s still here when the window closes we start to use him again and then play le Fée through the middle and keep Neil as a 6.

I said in the Sammed thread that I think that would be much more effective than having le Fée left, Neil as an 8, and Sammed as a 6.
I'd pair up Dan Neil and Le Fee as our midfield 2 and build the team around them.
