Jack Clarke

Objectively he hasn’t

He will have been on relative buttons here. And we finished 16th last season.

If he can’t get a game there then he’s maybe not good for that league, and he will find his level again, but he’s been paid for it.

I still think he’s good enough for the Premier League
He jumped too early. One more season with us and he would have got the big money move to an establishment PL club.
We may well be waving to him as the clubs pass each other as well.
Royaly shafted by Harte. He must realise that now.

Harte has absolutely fucked Clarke over 100%.
To a degree but he's not exactly a kid and has previous experience of transfers not working that he has to realise it was a big risk and take blame himself also if it doesn't work out. People are responsible for their own actions, ultimately.

However, he'll likely get another decent move if he needs one, maybe stays and gets established in the PL, or might stay and tear up the Championship again next year if they go down. He will be made financially now. If he'd stayed and got a serious injury he might never have got another chance of a big contract, for example, and he had no way of knowing SAFC were going to have a good season based on the evidence of the last one, so understandably thought that was the chance he had to grasp.

Easy to judge these things from afar and in hindsight, but at the time I'm pretty sure it would have looked like the right decision, and it may still prove to be.

Furthermore, it's also possible that SAFC with a want away Clarke this season may not have done as well as we did with hungry Mundle/Watson playing there. We moved on, he did too.

We’ve got a lot better. But you’re guessing if you think that would mean he’d be off to a Brighton or a Palace or a West Ham
Well Bellingham likely will be.
Why not Clarke who'd hit form earlier?
You're logic is flawed.
He took the first offer. His second would have been a better club. There's little doubt about that.

Don’t think the lad stops us conceding daft goals late on, that’s why we aren’t clear at the top not because we sold Clarke. I loved Clarke but the reality is we haven’t missed him. I hope he kicks on at Ipswich after his goal and assist but at the minute it’s looking like a better deal for us.

We would have killed more games off with him as an offensive player. Hence the daft late goals become less relevant

No evidence of the last paragraph, particularly as he was outstanding in the games he did play this season before transfer.

Iam not sure Clark had much choice about leaving …. Club knew they had to make space for Mundle and Watson

We are better off without him. It was always the 'Jack Clarke show' when he was here. We have adapted without him and developed into a better team with a wider range of goal threats. Obviously under Le Bris, having Clarke may look very different. But we have good strength on LW and positions like CF and RB take priority.
I don’t think we are better as a result of him not being here. He holds on to the ball too long, but so does Mundle and so does Roberts.

I’d love to see what he would do in the current side with the current manager.

Completely agree. I think he needed another year before moving to the premier league. And he also needed to go to a different team - a Brighton, Brentford or Bournemouth would have been right for him.
