The Mags are shitting it.

The Mags aren't shitting it.

But they did spend the last few decades telling everyone that there was something special about the club, a unique relationship between club and supporters, a history and culture that set them aside from other teams. They were geordies and anyone else just divvent understand

And one day along came so authoritarian billionaires who offered them a deal - they would buy them the most expensive players in the world, guarantee them major trophies and all they had to do in return was let the billionaires take a public shit all over their history and culture and values

But in a twist that wasn't a shock to anyone but the mags the billionaires didn't buy them the most expensive players, and they didn't win any major trophies. They had been conned.

But rather than admit they had been made to look like chumps they spent their time posting shit about Sunderland instead

It is if we go up. . .. except I reckon he's best off moving anyway in case he/we gets found out in the league above.
Jobe is a cracking player at championship level but the premier league might be a step too far too early. Rigg is 2 years younger and might well be a better prospect.

Why would Jobe leave if we go up ? It’s clear his family have their heads screwed on and his development as a footballer is what matters. If, and it’s still a massive if, we go up then Jobe is pretty much guaranteed 38 premier league games if he stays fit. He won’t get that anywhere else. I don’t think he would want to move on. I think he would stay for a season. Get the experience under his belt. His value will only rise. He then moves on. The only way I see him moving is if we get a massive offer for him or a club near to his brother comes in for him.
I think we will get that massive offer for him.

I personally don’t recall seeing him kick a ball but the excitement and attention it’s getting off neutrals, fans of other teams, our own fanbase who might know more than me and journos bodes well.

have had the view that the club bring ran in a sustainable manner
What has made you think that? They have completely transformed the AoL, spent millions on the stadium, partnered with a sports apparel specialist retailer and spent thousands on a new store and kit launch and gradually improved the playing squad in every transfer window since arriving here. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

To be really going for promotion I still think we need a right back, a right winger and a striker.

If we dont get those we will effectively playing on luck that we don't get injuries in those areas.
Just need a striker imo. As we can go 442 as well I think we have the options needed.

Be my best day watching football ever when a bunch of talented kids beat their world superstars having cost about 1% of their squad.
Well Folks, along with many I have had the view that the club bring ran in a sustainable manner was the right thing and have been broadly supportive of the club progress.

I have questioned again like many the ambition of the owners, was it a financial project or was it about the glory. At some point we were going to have put a squad of players together that had the quality and relevant experience to compete with clubs with greater resources.

The failure to acquire a credible striker has fed the doubt for 2 years.

This very clever recruitment today is a clear statement of intent. It’s almost a cheat code we get a Premiership quality player to help towards promotion but don’t pay for him until we get there.

Same goes for Isidor and Mepham.

We are still a striker short… If Isidor gets injured we are exposed but hopefully they will resolve that in remainder of window.

I truly believe we are good enough to get auto promoted now. ( esp with another credible striker)

If we retain Mepham, Isidor, Le Fee, Jobe, Neil, etc for next season in the prem should we get promoted I think we might just surprise ourselves

I believe… bring it on
Nice post and echoes my feelings. No more overpaid journeyman past their best. Young talented and hungry kids who can view the club and what it’s building as sone thing special. Squad feels like it’s a great squad who enjoy playing together, even Le Fee should fit in really well as knows a few of the lads and wants to play for RLB. Compare this to just 3 years ago….

This is the statement signing of KLD’s tenure. I think it signals that as a football club we are back and ready to compete again. It’s been a slow building process but now ready to go all out to get back to where we belong. The gears have been changed.
Great feel good factor around the place. This signing does seem like a release of a brake.

Wait 'til the poor fucker has a bad game.

I see a meltdown from certain people on here. 🤣🤣🤣

Whee they going to leave out?
Neil,JobesyRigg?
Got Samed ready soon anarl.
Browney and Povsy anarl.

It's a lot of eggs in one basket like.

If we don't go up we get dismantled.

If we do we got a canny chance of staying there with the young talent we got.

1) Get a grip.
2) They’ve shown they can build a young side over the last two years. Every faith that they’d do it again except with more money available and not starting from scratch in League One.

What do you don’t remember the shit Craig Gordon used to get just for conceding a goal.

People expected him to keep clean sheets every week based on nothing but his transfer fee.

Hope it works out and we end up having to stump up the cash for him.

What's the connection between signing a midfielder that cost a major club over €20m and was statistically one of the best midfielders in a top 5 league to signing Will f***ing Grigg from Wigan?
