Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

I have no problem with him personally but I wish we would stop blowing our big fees on players that are making zero impact on improving us.

Alexsic and Hjelde fees could have been spent on a striker that would actually fire us to promotion.
Both players are young and full of potential. The latter has impressed me more as a centre half. We are building a young squad that will develop and grow together including our home grown youngsters like Jones and Middlemass. The signing of Le Fee will help bring them on. The trouble with buying strikers to fit the model is not financially viable . Prolific loan players are very hard to find and will be out of our current price range but I like the pairing of Isidor and Mayenda. Ogunsuyi and Tutierov will get their chance. The rumours of Cummings from Celtic are interesting, if true. The future looks bright to me.

Not sure what you’ve seen of hjelde to think he’s full of potential tbh.

Last January we 'blew' money on Mundle who came in and made zero impact in improving us.... Until he did. It took Mayenda over a year to make an impact but we can all see now what an quality signing it was.

There has been a shift this season towards buying first team ready players (Mepham, Isidor, Le Fee) but buying and developing for the future is our model. There will be successes and failures but we aren't going to change that. Nor do I think we should as it's serving us well currently.

It’s truly mental sometimes the expectations of some fans on young lads that we’ve taken a punt on (teenagers especially). They are rabidly demanded to make an instant impact when moving to a new club with new surroundings. For some it’s a new part of the country away from their friends and family (like Mundle last year), for others (like Mayenda and Aleksic) it’s a new country with a new language, a different culture etc. on top of the adaptation to a new system of football. These lads have balls to make such a big move at a young age, but they need time to adapt!

Impatience gets you nowhere, and the club already made a mistake with Jewi. I know he has been here a bit longer and still hasn’t worked out yet, but come on man he came from Costa Rican football and not knowing the language with only his Dad for company. The club got impatient and he ended up getting shunted off to Greece where it didn’t work out. Shock horror. Hopefully those mistakes are over.

I think he looks bright. Raw, but has something about him.

Id rather see him on our bench and playing for the u21s (can't understand why he hasn't been) than getting kicked in league 1/2. He needs to follow the Tommy Watson path of development.
He definitely needs to be given time to settle properly in the country, it's been a huge shift for such a young lad. Carting him off to another new town/city is unlikely to do him any good so, as you say, keep him here and let the coaches work with him.
