Mayenda discussion thread

I thought It was his touch that forced him onto his right foot.

His touch as he went through v sheff utd was spot on, the one v Blackburn was similar to yesterday.

He’s developing and hopefully his finishing and touch will improve as he has some great attributes…..delighted for him in terms of how he has bounced back after the missed chances v Blackburn and stoke.
Ah yeah as I say I like him in general and think he will turn out to be excellent

He’s only 19 as well, has massive potential.

The main thing I like about him is he’s very direct. As soon as he gets it, his first thought is to run at the defenders.

In this league, most defenders aren’t comfortable with pacey players running at them so it’s good to have someone like him in the side.

Ideally he progresses to the PL with us, but IF we don’t then I could certainly see him at a Brentford or Palace in the not so distant future if he continues progressing.

almost want not to like him because of the unwavering tunnel vision folks which cant see his faults

should def be on on more than 3 goals in 25 appearances

25 appearances.
Is that starts ? Or quite a few as minutes as a sub ?
Is that as a striker or on the wing ?
If you're disappointed that he should score more as a winger I think paddy Roberts is more disappointing and he's not 19 and in his first season.

There's surely not a single 19 year old with a better goal involvement per minutes played ratio in the entire English football league, is there?

Mayenda has a goal or assist in every 156 minutes he's played this season.

Huge misuse of stats there. Some of the 25 were last season, when he was barely out of metaphorical nappies.

This season: 18 appearances in the league, but some were as sub for a short time. It's under 14 games worth in minutes. And lot of them were in an unfamiliar position, out wide.

Look at the numbers for his 8 starts up front (on his own or with Wilson). 3 in those 8 games.

Also, look at his other contributions to scoring. Eliezer has 5 assists this season - which is 5 more than Isidor.

Sure, Mayenda should have scored more - everyone can see that he's missed chances. But the fact that he's got into scoring positions is half the battle. Experience, confidence and composure will see him put away more of them. The lad is just beginning.

it never stopped people using them types of numbers when Wickham was here ;-)

He’s great I think. Should be a starter for us
Le fee jobe neil rigg
Isidor Mayenda

that’s the front 6 I would play against Derby. Win or lose . No draw
