19 year old, always in great positions, drives up the pitch great. Joint highest in the team for goal contributions with 3G 5A’s in his debut season in men’s football.

Needs to work on his composure for sure but we have a very talented centre forward on our hands imo

Creating a great partnership with Isidor too!

Joint top highest goal contributions in the team ffs man
The best Wilson double since these 2

It's not just one though is it. There's clearly some issues in his game which are causing us and him problems. Comparing that to Messi missing the odd chance is madness.
Jesus man I’m not comparing him to messi I’m saying every single player misses chances !!!! He’s obv weak on his right foot but he’s 19 years old man ffs
He looks great but his decision making and composure still need work.

We desperately need another striker who offers something different to accompany him and Isidor. I’m think Connolly is not gonna make any impact unfortunately.
If his decision making and composure was perfect he would of had about 35 goals already your been unrealistic every striker misses chances

We’re a much better attacking team with Mayenda and Isidor playing together, they keep playing together and the goals will start to flow.

Like he did for our goal you mean?

Seriously

Did you not see his goal last week? Or against Sheff Wed? Or his assist today?

Some people who watch us are absolute tools

Any striker worth their salt should score that goal v Sheffield united. I would expect a league 2 striker to slot that in. Likewise, the glaring headers he's missed against Stoke and Norwich and the countless one on ones he's blasted high wide and handsome.

Now don't get me wrong he has done very well to get in them positions but he's probably averaging a goal every 4 or 5 gilt edged chances. Ignoring how the chances were created and just taking them on face value that's the ratio of a poor striker.

He should improve and he will need to, to stay in the side. Put it this way, I think Connolly scores more of them chances than Mayenda but bizarrely I'd still probably rather play mayenda

Connolly has shown nowt to suggest he would put them away.

His all round game is improving, but do you think he will ever be clinical, is that something you can develop?

Imagine his raw attributes, combined with Maja's finishing ability!

He’s only 19 ffs. I would expect that most posters on here were better at their job when they were 25 than when they were at 19.
This sort of crap isn’t new , I remember Sunderland fans booing John O’Hare. He left us , won 2 Division 1 medals and 2 European Cups (when Div 1 was the Premier League , and European Cup was etc.,)

He's fast, strong, can carry the ball, played the killer pass for the goal yesterday and he's 19. His finishing is erratic and I was never confident with that first half chance, but he's got loads of attributes to work with, he could be an absolute beast very soon.

It’s not about the finish ya berk it’s about the run the touch the pace !! You have to get yourself in them positions. Tell me a better 19 year old striker in this division ?? Or even the prem
