is it being dubbed as a horror flick though?

In crude terms vampires are either sexy, scary or a bit of both

This defiantly wasn’t a sexy vampire, but it wasn’t scary either. Which meant that no matter how gorgeous it looked it felt like it was missing something.

It is a great bit of film making, great cast, but lacked the spark of sex or fear

A Real Pain (2024). Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg as two American Jewish cousins on a tour of Poland. Hated it myself but you might love it (Culkin is just doing his Succession thing..loved that show but hate this). The piano score is really intrusive and annoying. 3/10.

Watched it last night, enjoyed it… 4/5 for me… not sure culkin is acting, he’s good in this but think he’s just being himself (same with eisenberg). I like the introvert/extrovert bipolar thing going on which I find a fascinating subject.

Want to visit Poland now though…

Hereditary (2018) - 8/10. One of the better horror films, had been meaning to watch it for ages. Gets more bizarre as it goes on. Toni Colette is fantastic, as always.

fair enough. Thanks for not being abusive coz I disagree. Refreshing!

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
Loud, brainless and hugely entertaining monster mash up.
The humans turn up every now and then to deliver tiny bits of exposition to talk us through what's going on, but its really just an excuse to see Kong and Godzilla leather bells out of any creatures that get in their way.
My expectations were low but I enjoyed this way more than I expected to, in fact After Kong Skull: Island this is probably my favourite my second favourite in the Monarch Universe.
7/10

The Return (2024) 7/10
Odysseus returns to Ithaca. He's mistaken for a vagrant, and is ridiculed by the men vying to marry the wife he left behind. Great performance by Ralph Fiennes, but some odd casting in the name of diversity, including an ancient Greek with an MLE accent.

Killing Them Softly (2012) 8/10
Adaptation of a book by George V Higgins. Tries to elevate a Boston gangland movie into arthouse, particularly through bold sound design. Not sure it works, but it's different.

All Night Long (1962) 8/10
Othello transposed to the 1960s London jazz scene. The story adaptation is a bit clunky, but great soundtrack from the likes of Dave Brubeck and Charles Mingus, who make cameos.

I’m not sure if I like The Return or not, it was ok but seemed to be missing something, maybe a bit of action!

Heretic 5/10
We were looking forward to it, thought it might be similar to something like the conjuring but it wasn't. Hugh grant was quality but the film was long and boring, the plot was a bit of an anti climax and a bit stupid.
