The Lighthouse has Robert Pattinson wanking over a mermaid at one point. I'm sure that won't be awkward watching with your teen, though.

Given the anatomical challenges that's all he could really do with a mermaid though
I'm really looking forward to Nosferatu but probably won't get chance to see it until next week.
My expectations have been slightly lowered though since 2 friends whose opinions I trust went yesterday and both were hugelyove disappointed by it, calling out the acting, the script and most worryingly for me, they said it was boring and "felt like it was about 5 hours long".

I've been hesitant to watch basically every Robert Eggers film because of this. Everything he does, some people say it's the best they've ever seen, others say it's the worst

Yeah. I liked both The Witch and The Lighthouse (not seen The Northman yet) so am hoping Nosferatu follows suit. I don't always agree with the two who saw it, but the one who said it was really boring had worked on it and his early thoughts were that it was looking good, so it was a bit disappointing to hear his thoughts on the final piece.

The wife and I have just watched Babylon (2022) on Netflix. I'd never even heard of it before. I thought it was excellent in parts (although it seemingly bombed at the box office).

The snake fighting scene in the desert was superb.

I might have to give this a go. It was largely written off on release and bombed at the box office (granted, not always an indicator of a bad film)
Wrong thread
What’s your rating for that mate? Might check it out.

Always wondered why the saying" Plenty of Fish in The sea " was popular. Who knew it awas sex related thing!

I'm trying to gauge the tastes of the people who love Eggers to see if I'll agree
Ah, yeah I get it.

I feel it’s more whimsical than Eggers but definitely has that darker gothic tone…until the Sex People Lynne!
Me with a lot of Wes Anderson films.

I read a review that called the second half of his career an exercise in interior design and found it hard not to laugh or agree.
One of the films that I passionately hate is Steve Zissu 🤬🤮
