Support our City Centre - Sunderland

City centre heaving yesterday both pre and post match

The 3 Stories (all three floors) the Peacock Dun Cow Engine Room Tilleys and Streetbar all packed.
The Peacock never seems to open on a Tuesday evening when a midweek home game is on. I appreciate them not wanting to open on a normal Tuesday, but they would surely make a profit if they opened on a midweek match day?

I’ll be supporting it again for three nights starting tomorrow.
I’m home for a few days and nights and so looking to support SUNDERLAND city centre this particular afternoon. Can anyone recommend a SUNDERLAND city centre pub this particular afternoon. I most certainly don’t want live music or intellectual conversation just a couple of pints for just under two hours.
Any recommendations? Where would you go this particular afternoon?

it’s going to be a good connecting route when the new bridge opens
Would be great to have the city centre extended to the north bank of the river.
To link up the stadium site with the city centre

Noticed it was shut on NYE when we went to Spice Empire.

A number of places in town stick to their rotas irrespective of whether a match is on.
Restaurants I can get, but surely pubs will miss out on good trade?
