He's just another player in a long long list of players who've put money before career, shame, but he knew what he was doing.

Davies going would help Clarke IMO, think Delap is another probable, Hirst is an outside bet I feel. Don't believe he's upto it. Hutchinson might be one who will improve enough, but again an outside chance.Delap, that Davies at left back and George Hirst will probably go to Prem Clubs
34% possession, 3 shots none on targetIpswich are getting better and are far from gone yet.
They were well in the game last night and competitive all over the pitch.
Clarke did ok when he came on, saw plenty of the ball and didn't look low on confidence to me.
The fact that he is not getting in ahead of Szmodics will be a motivating factor for him to get his head down and prove his worth.
If he he gets a starting spot then it's his job to keep it. Similar to Aouchiche here at SAFC.
I really hope he does well for them.
It is the gap is massive it pains me to write it but they have a much better team than us as for Clarke it's evident he is either subbed or comes on as a substitute never seen him get the better or take some mediocre players on with ease at that level If we do go up it will be a struggle and I'm still not convinced we will have money or spend it if we are promoted think the most we have spent on a player so far is 3 million? I maybe wrong on this hopefully someone might knowSimply pointing out that your comment “the game against the mags proved he isn’t premiership quality” was rubbish
No more, no less. Sorry if you can’t handle that![]()

That’s more reasonable, we were talking about your comment about the mags match proving he wasn’t up to the standard. That was rubbishIt is the gap is massive it pains me to write it but they have a much better team than us as for Clarke it's evident he is either subbed or comes on as a substitute never seen him get the better or take some mediocre players on with ease at that level If we do go up it will be a struggle and I'm still not convinced we will have money or spend it if we are promoted think the most we have spent on a player so far is 3 million? How has he put money before his career? How exactly would his career have been better without the move? He's just another player in a long long list of players who've put money before career, shame, but he knew what he was doing.
Maybe so, which he would have been if he stayed, which would still assist in further development regardless of his age. There’s no real cut off point to developing your game, some are early bloomers, others much later. A season on the bench isn’t what he needs this age though. At some point, people need to stop talking about his "developement", as if he is a youth player.
He is 24 now, and about the time in his career where he should be expected to be pretty much "developed", and performing each game.
JC didn't have a lot of suitors before. Why would he have them now? He's gong to be limited to a Championship move really. His star has waned. Can't blame Ipswich for giving it their best shot and signing whoever they can. Shame for Jack Clarke that they signed Szmodics, so he might be surplus to requirements if they need to strengthen somewhere else - they'll not lose much on JC and he'd have a lot of suitors. They might be ruthless, I'm kinda expecting it. They might not go down, but if they do they'll keep McKenna and the majority of their talent.
He is pretty much as developed as hes going to get. He will make slight improvements to his game, but what you see is what you get at his age.Maybe so, which he would have been if he stayed, which would still assist in further development regardless of his age. Clarke wanted to leaveThat Ian Harte is bad news for players like.
Clarke has already failed in the PL once before. This season he should of been carefully choosing his move based on clubs playing to his strengths because he couldn't afford to fail again. A team that's going to give him plenty of minutes and is set up for his to contribute. That way even if that team went down he'd of been in the window for another move the year after (potentially for a lot more money and to a bigger club)
As it is, he's going to go down this season with Ipswich and nobody in the PL is going to bat an eyelid at him. He'll be back to the Championship with a wage cut. I'm not saying staying here was right for him, but Palace or Everton were linked I believe, potentially they might have been better. Or even abroad, weren't Lazio interested at one point.
Still, Harte got his bonus.
So what.34% possession, 3 shots none on target
34% possession, 3 shots none on target
I doubt he's going to get selected for England or win Premier League, FA Cup or European medals (though not out of the question). So what else would a professional footballer want to play for in their short career? He's just another player in a long long list of players who've put money before career, shame, but he knew what he was doing.
I am pretty sure that one person who does not feel sorry for Clarke is Clarke himself. He is pretty much as developed as hes going to get. He will make slight improvements to his game, but what you see is what you get at his age.
It pains me to say it because I really like the lad, but he probably will spend most of his career in the Limboland of "Better than the Championship, but not good enough for the Premier League"
That’s just the reality of life for most footballers regardless of level. Always a level that’s a cut above and that’s what costs the big bucks. Still if it turns out he’s a top championship player rather than prem league standard it’s still a very lucrative and enjoyable way to earn a living. He is pretty much as developed as hes going to get. He will make slight improvements to his game, but what you see is what you get at his age.

Financially he won’t but I genuinely think he enjoyed it here and was a popular member of a very tight group .I am pretty sure that one person who does not feel sorry for Clarke is Clarke himself.
Fans are attached emotionally to clubs in a way that players are not. Look at Defoe for instance. Idolised by a 40,000 crowd but up and off to play intermittently in front of 10,000 at Bournemouth.
Clarke will not regret leaving us for even a minute.
I do agree. Just think he could have stayed until Jan here and continues his performance levels and found a better option than Ipswich. He is pretty much as developed as hes going to get. He will make slight improvements to his game, but what you see is what you get at his age.

He’s playing in the premier league how has he put money before his career he’s advanced his career to the top levelHe's just another player in a long long list of players who've put money before career, shame, but he knew what he was doing.
Probably his shit new haircutCertainly not playing to his strengths when he comes on
