Oatcake not happy again (at us again)

Dirty Leeds, us & Burnley there next 3
No wins in eight

Relegation form;)
I have a feeling that this could be one of those Boxing Day games where the obvious favourite turns out to have eaten too much Xmas pud.

I fancy that Stoke might just get the better of Leeds as for some reason you never want to face a team that's doing badly the day after Xmas. Looking at the fixtures the teams in most of the other games seem to be evenly matched however Coventry v Plymouth could produce another Boxing Day surprise in favour of Plymouth

Over the years SAFC has both benefited as the under dog and has suffered as the favourite from the "Boxing Day" effect. Thankfully as our opposition this Boxing Day is a close rival whatever the result turns out to be its not going to be a shock

Don't do drugs, kids. ;)

Not a chance. You'll win by two clear goals at least. Put your house on it.
This time last year I envied you so much when you appointed Schumacher and we appointed Beale. Fortunately our lot realised quickly the mistake they made but your lot had a headstrong moment and undid the good work they had done. It’s still early days for where we are now at but let’s see if your lot realize how mad they have been and go out and do a sensible appointment. There are managers out there if they want to have a serious look

On Boxing Day last season Leeds lost 2 -1 away to Preston.

Before their win Preston had been in 13th place and had lost their previous 2 games. Only three days before on 23rd December Leeds had thrashed Ipswich 4 -0 !

On paper Preston didn't stand a chance.

Really good time to play them, in crisis mode again.

Several threads about sacking their latest manager ...

  • If ever a gaffer’s deserving the sack,
With toothpaste white sneakers and dull flannel slacks,
Commander Spock pluckbrows and guff, post-match quack,
And close lidded blind-eyes in Sharpie pen black,
    Encouraging football that’s borderline cack,
    It’s Manuel-esque tactician, Narcis Pelach.
  • Please leave now
  • He wears nice knitwear,
    His trainers are white,
    'Tis such a pity,
    His tactics are shite.
  • Any, and I mean any, other manager would play a higher line
That one simple thing would make a clear difference instantly
All the outfield players are playing worse under this manager than under the last one, that's a fact
There's only one outcome by sticking by this absolute fraud
  • He is Spanish and not up to it
But he’s handicapped by senior management being shit
Soon as we concede, we are destined to fail
Next season we will be playing the Vale.

In the Cannon thread:

Cannon is the best striker we’ve had since relegation. Not a lot of competition admittedly, and there is flaws in his game but let’s be realistic, if he was the finished product then he wouldn’t be on loan with us would he? Hes been given virtually nothing in terms of service in 90% of the games we’ve played this season and if he went too a side which was performing better and was more on the front foot then he’d score a hat full of goals. It’s no coincidence that a lot of players who have moved on from us whether loans ended or sold have gone on too look ten times the player they did when playing for this cursed, biblically horrific club

Now I'm worried he's going to have the game of his life against us on Sunday.

Robins has worked wonders with a club that was in a worse state than yours tbf.
He has but how much of that was down to his relationship with Ade Viveash who he apparently fell out with, and subsequently got the sack not long after? Don't know too much about it but from the outside with limited knowledge it sounds a bit iffy to me. Given our current status I'd prefer a manager like Mowbray who has proven he can go into a club and work with other staff members like at your place for example.
Id presume for Robins or Mowbray (probably) to come in you'd have to do away with Job Walters.
Yes, as I said earlier in the thread I wouldn't have appointed either and would have certainly sent them down the road a while ago. Walters wouldn't have even got the job had his name been Phil Smith and never had played for us. It's a real weak spot of John Coates. He loves employing an ex player and it's crap. He needs to change that.

Their last 9 games is made up of 0 wins, 4 draws & 5 losses. Ourselves and Burnley are their next 2 league games.

They’re probably the worst form team in the league (I can only think of Plymouth and Hull who might be worse). We have to get 3 points here regardless of our mini injury crisis.

Dream scenario: we pick up all 3 points, they sack their manager and Burnley drop points from the new manager bounce.
