Toon Springsteen cancels Newcastle gig

There's very little to dislike in them really?

Easy listening dad rock from what I've heard. Should probably appeal to the demographic on here

It is a forum obsessed with Newcastle like
It’s absolutely crackers like. I mean, I do find SF’s whole NUFC thing nauseating, but it’s served him well up here and he’s got some good tunes. No different to Oasis and Man City really.

Aye!
Fender
Oasis
Man City
….all obnoxious pricks who fell in the lucky bucket

What does actually support mean and does it really make a difference?

Maybe the kid wasn’t particularly bothered by them when he was a teenager but has become more interested as he got older? My godson was like that with the Lads, and now he’s a regular at the SoL.

So, someone with no interest whatsoever in football until they became 'the richest club in the world', then suddenly turns into a full kit wanker talking about 'wor clurb' at every opportunity (budget Bruce, not your godson, who clearly is someone with exceptionally good taste 😎).

Aye, sounds like a typical mag!

How do we know he had no interest though? I'm not so sure that is 100% fact (source: trust me, bro).

I'm not denying his fandom is exaggerated and it's probably being driven by his management, but it's a bit disingenuous to say he was never a fan.

I would say support is financially supporting the club. Attendance at matches, buying legitimate merchandise.

So was that filmed before or after the takeover?

Sorry, I made it a minute into it, but it was too jawdee for me 😅.

Fairs enough. I just remember seeing posts on social media of people claiming to know him since his school days and that he had no interest at all in football. Took it as face value, as they were from mag supporters too.

Two of his band are season ticket holders and lent him a training top to be interviewed in. They even take the piss because he knows nowt about football. Fair play to him for riding the gravy train but the whole Sam Fender Toon Army stuff is feeding into the cult like status of the Mags.

It was published five years ago.

Did he ever rearrange those small venue concerts he cancelled a few years back?

Seemingly lost interest in them once he got popular.

The gigs were never rearranged, and after a year, I eventually received a refund for the vinyls I had to purchase to get the ticket. However, I’m not sure if the refund came from him or the local record store. I asked them about it, but they didn’t respond. Didn't want them to go out of pocket due to him cancelling.

Not long prior to the refund they did post that they had no idea what was happening and that he and his management had been quiet about the situation.

My friend has now tried to see him four times and failed each time

No he didnt. That’s exactly what he did to his North American tour though, cancelled them all as soon as he “made it” in his eyes, due to selling out Sid James
