Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

I am entitled to my opinion. Many have liked my post so I am clearly not the only one with this opinion. It depends on the aim. I am simply pointing out that you can't expect to challenge for autos in the long run. The squad simply isn't strong enough compared to Leeds, Sheff United etc. If anyone is happy with the backup options as it is then they can't expect autos. Not that many will have expected that anyway. You'd have to go the same way as Ipswich and be able to thow on a new set of forwards to get goals in the last 10. We don't have that option.

I think the plan was to have an out & out cf with isidor as quality cover/competition/different option, as well as being an option out wide. The plan made total sense, had we signed Mendy & Poveda & Samed been available, on paper that's as strong a squad as Leeds & Sheffield United imo. Injuries & the fact we couldn't get that cf signing over the line is where we're falling short currently.

Agree. It's also taught us that fatigue kicks in as they aren't used to playing twice a week.
Youngsters don't have the stamina of older players - and the game is a lot quicker nowadays. And yet ... I recall Alan Brown putting younger teams than this out when the game was more physical. Who is right and who is wrong ?
I blame these poxy Internationals.
Perhaps games shouldn't be cancelled for internationals - certainly outside the PL where only 38 games are played compared to 46 elsewhere.
