Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

He’s going to be another huge bonus to the season
In amongst all the recent gloom we have some shining lights from our academy coming through.
Think the Centre forward and keeper could soon be pushing in next season or so …

He doesn't seem too keen to track back, a little apathetic in his chasing down after losing the ball I thought, would like to see more aggression from him.
I know he's young but he did look like a little boy caught in the headlights at times.
Agree with this. A little slow to close down at times but that will be drilled into him. The first 20 mins was one of the best performances ive seen from one of our players for a while. That Gilchrist who is highly rated at Chelsea was absolutely petrified of him. Incredibly exciting talent.

Heard a lot about him on here and obviously hadn’t seen much of it but I thought he was very good the other night, had their Fb really panicking at times a bit at times, hopefully he can approach more games like that as he’ll be a valuable asset.

Keep it up Tommy lad 👊🏻

Agreed. Looked really good on Friday. Will only improve with game time.

I don't think,it's physical mate, it more a case of getting to know how to use his body/shield the ball certain ways etc.
I’d say they’re part and parcel of the same thing really. He gets nudged off the ball a bit but that will improve I’m sure.
We need to sign this guy on a pro contract
He’s under contract until 2026.

Career. On 18 April 2023 Watson made his professional debut for Sunderland, appearing as a substitute in the EFL Championship against Huddersfield Town. Despite a back injury hampering his ability to feature at the start of the 2023–24 season, Watson signed a new three-year contract with Sunderland in September 2023.

Well done Hank, was starting to worry but remember now that was the longest contract we could give because of his age at the time.
