Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

For a 25 minute period he finally played without having shackles on which is what he'd been doing in previous starts. He was apprehensive and doing things simple rather than playing his natural game.

Started like that tonight but suddenly decided to play his own natural game and had success.

Mepham red card sent him back into apprehensive mode and drifted out of the game in the 2nd half.

Certainly a talent but feel he'd be much more effective for us coming on off the bench for last 20/25 minutes.
He's a real talent and we're fortunate to have him to step in when Mundle is injured. It's his moment, the opportunity to stamp his mark and develop his career. He has to start games, as a young player he had a great game tonight against the team who are top of the League. The only worry is the PL clubs see it too.

Sorry I read it on here that he is not ready for first team football ( to be fair he has had about 4 first team appearances)

IIRC he was initially chosen as a sub for us a long time ago, he's been on the their watch lists for a long time now.

Exactly what a winger should be doing, you’ll never beat your man everytime but if you keep putting them on the back foot you’ll cause problems. It’ll be good to see how it works when cirkin is back and overlapping

With Mundle, Tommy and Cirkin our future left side is sorted. Our right side is more than decent but not quite as strong. Would that be fair comment? :)

He does look a bit naive defending but he's a young lad and his strength is running at them. He's got a lot to learn but he's on the right path. Personally I dont think hes looked as comfortable in the first squad as does in the ressies, maybe a little bit of imposter syndrome but for me hes earned his place.

I’ve always been a big fan of Robert’s but I’m starting to get frustrated with him now. He’s so good on the ball it’s ridiculous at times but he’s been all fart nee sh*** for seasons. I would defo be looking to sign a right winger in January to play infront of Hume

Unlikely given we have Poveda at the club.

He's settling into the team quicker than Mundle did last season. If he keeps getting game time he'll be one of our better players by the end of the season. Lad has bags of talent.

RLB perservered with him after the tough learning curve against WBA.....
3 days later, tonight... you can see he's going to thrive already.
Really encouraging stuff Tommy, well done lad.
RLB didn't react and give him a chance second half after they brought on that Right Back, would have been good to have seen him have a chance with Alese on the pitch rather than being replaced by him.

Change should have been earlier and should have been Roberts for Alese, with a back 4 of Hume, Ballard, ONien, Alese. Rigg would have been more suited out on the right linking up with Hume in a similar area to where he had been playing, then once he tired then Mayenda could have come on. Would have potentially kept our shape better and the momentum we had built up, instead we conceded it by setting up more defensively and dropping back down the pitch.
