1st TEST :: New Zealand v England

Possibly but you can't go to Australia with 43 year old bowling 80 mph. We have got to be looking ahead not back.
Retiring Jimmy probably 6 months or a year early to give Atkinson a shot ahead of the Ashes was a ruthless call but the right one if Jimmy wasn't making the Ashes.

Taking Woakes to Pakistan and New Zealand to play over Potts is proving to be a really poor decision.

Woakes is also significantly less skilful, and approaching 36.

He averages 52 in Australia

Which is the point
I want to win tests and Jimmy still is good enough to play in the side over Woakes and you should always pick your best side.

If they care about the future picking Woakes who has failed time and time again away from England should not have been picked for either of these tours and potentially retired along with Jimmy and Bairstow.

Far too much chat has been about the Ashes since the last one. Not taken the other series as serious as we should nor the WTC as our captain said he doesn't even understand the rules of it.

While fans spend thousands to watch England play test matches!

Anyway get in Brydon that's how you bowl at a number 11!

Good figures for Carse.

A bit worried we may be skittled out cheaply with the amount of seam movement there's been this morning.

Yeah the heat definitely dulled the movement.

Weather more like what you'd have expected today. Henry has been like a man on fire recently so he could easily run through us.

Bowled Carse. No idea if 350 is good or not, we’ll see.

Also, sorry, but Woakes has to be retired away from home. Atkinson and Carse both bat anyway, so we don’t need his runs. Potts a far superior option.
