Time for 5-3-2

Patto
Hume Mepham Ballard Onion Cirkin
Rigg Neil Jobe
Mayenda Isidor.
Roberts is out of form and Watson is young. Both can be impact changes if late on we revert and a CH comes off.
No long kicks from Patto but worked from back thus any high press from oppos will be difficult and if they do then gaps created for 3 CM.
Rigg working more right and Jobe left. Neil does not have to just sit, as he generally does with 2 CM, but of course he knows when to if Onion goes forward.
Both forwards can drift, but if one does then the other stays up top and interchange.

Disagree if ya want , but a dinnit care, reet.

This also allows to switch to a 5-4-1 without the ball and 3-5-2 with the ball by only moving the zone a player works in.

Mayenda heading out to the right to work it in and Isidor to the left. Would need a good understanding of when the team needs to be fluid and when they need to hold shape.

Swap Onion for Alese and could be worth a go.

Wouldn't be against that line up and formation on Friday with possibly conolly for mayenda

I think 352 is worth a go (maybe not on Friday night) but we need to start creating more chances and also get more players into the box.

I wouldn't be against it when Cirkin is back. It makes sense short term given we've 3 good cb's fit plus Alese, Hjelde, Johnson & Anderson in reserve. It's very reliant on Hume & Cirkin being available though & I'd still rather us play with wingers long term.
I think a winger who can play either wing & is an upgrade on Roberts should be top of the shopping list in January. I wonder if we might go back in for Benson, although he's been injured I believe (not that that would stop us). Ryan Kent is available on a free in January as well I think.

Disagree!

You are always trying to bomb O9 out. Not happening.

I don't think the formation is something we'll use either. Unless you have proper wing backs, then playing full backs as wing backs is too defensive.
There could be a decent chance he gets bombed out if the formation stays as it is.

Cirkin can definitely play wingback. Hume - maybe but not to Cirkin level. I've always been of the opinion Onion is a good squad player. Mepham signing has shown what a proper CB is - just my opinion.

09 in a back 3 where he moves into the DCM position when we have the ball could work - would let Neil play further up which would suit him.

Not sure we'd create enough with our wing backs and CMs though. Would you play 1 striker and a #10 or 2 strikers? Who would play the #10? Adil is bang out of favour, and Jobe is so much better as a CM then being isolated further up the pitch.
