*~*~* Sunderland v West Brom match thread *~*~*

They passed the ball back to the keeper 3 times in the first minute.....really started as they meant to go on.

..
I've watched them a few times this season and it's the way they play. Regis did his increasing more usual let's have a look at them first when we really should have set about them from the off. No worries mind, game after now our keeper could be sitting in his dressing gown downing a drink or two. He's sorted the defence, time to set about what most developing sides do at this stage in their game, improve our attacking menace by working on our set pieces. Nowt wrong with a few 1-0 wins here and there.

Shows what I know, thought Neil was the pick of the midfield after a bright start by Jobe. I don't think Rigg is ready to be a regular starter, although I'm sure that won't be a popular opinion.

I think the midfield three were below par tonight. Jobe started superbly then gave away a poor pass and never really got going again. Neil anonymous IMO and Rigg wasteful in good areas.

Two wide men also ineffective, rarely beating the first man with balls into the box, and Isidor feeding off scraps. Just didn’t have the quality or ideas tonight.

We’re just running out of steam a bit in general

Obvious that West Brom came happy for a point which I am slightly surprised at

Thought we could be plying for another 90 minutes and still not score

Reckon Rigg needs a rest so a fifth yellow might be a blessing, Watson is trying too hard to impress and how bad must RLB think Ba is to not even give him a sniff over Roberts

I thought the subs were a decent effort to try something different and Mayenda looked good again tonight. I'd be giving him Roberts place

I think at his best hes our best CM but obviously very young so could maybe do with having his game time managed a bit more carefully.

Wont happen though just like it didnt with Jobe, and that turned out ok i suppose.

Watson needs to bulk up. He's getting bullied off the ball far too often playing against Championship defenders.
🤣🤣🤣

He's an 18 year old winger ffs man.

How many "bulky" good wingers have you ever seen?

Jack Clarke was hardly Arnie ffs.

I can just see the recruitment team now, desperately trying to find an 18 stone winger with a 56" chest that can run like the wind.

Jesus wept man. 🤣🤣🤣

Looked way too anxious about copping a card.

Nowt wrong with what he said imo - he gets bullied off the ball far too easily so needs to be stronger
