Jack Clarke

Like groundhog day this place.

Another Jack Clarke thread and @Keith S30S explaining why he should have waited for a different club, repeat ad infinitum.
Aye, made a dream move, 20 minutes here and there for a team 3rd bottom.
What pension do you get in your 30s?
A PFA pension at 35.

Obviously all the experts on here think footballers have normal jobs 😂

Aye your pfa pension not your normal pension. It’s relatively buttons. Especially to someone like Jack Clarke. Just done a quick calc there , 17 years at 6900 so 18 after a scholarship to 35 with 7% growth will give him a pension of about 250k. Bet he won’t know what to spend it all on.

Yes because before he even left Sunderland he'd already had wages of about £3M!

I believe players like Clarke need to put their happiness and long term careers ahead of money now.

Ross Stewart needed to get cash now because he'd never previously had a big move and he was 27, totally different scenario.

But we'll never agree...

Playing in every game in the best league in the world , at the best grounds, against the best players. Testing himself at the highest level while getting paid miles more money. What is the dream?
To start every week in your position and not be in a relegation scrap.

So take home of about 1.5m he isn’t going to be living the life you and me live man. Can just see him rocking up to training in a ford focus instead of a Range Rover to save more for retirement so he can stay and earn 33% of what he can elsewhere. Nice 3 bed detached in ryhope rather than a million quid house in jesmond or Cleadon. Dont bother buying somewhere back down Leeds/York for retirement. Send the kids to ryhope primary and not to private school. Just to stay here. Mental

Might as well retire from pro football then and sign for Sunderland rca on a Saturday and southwick and a Sunday, get 2 starts in your position every weekend then.

No £3M is take home! He's earned about £5M.

He was on about £15K a week here, that's £400K take home a season or £33K a month if you prefer 😂

But the lad is skint. Clueless.

Ok he has taken home 3m quid we will take take your figures. Nobody, absolutely nobody has said the lad is skint, not even close to skint. But he isn’t leaving millions and millions of quid on the table to keep people on here happy. He’s probably taking home 1.2m this year not 400k. It’s life changing money for him and generations to come. You’re clueless man.
Not sure they play with wingers so he might struggle to get a game mind.
He will be able to pick where he wants to start for those 2 team and be the best player while he starts. That’s the big thing

So you’re saying being a PL sub is more desirable than being a PL starter elsewhere or even playing each week in the Champ. Aged 24. Nonsense and you know it. Might as well have stayed at Spurs 3 years ago by your logic of being on the bench is the dream

He's not always sub

You literally said he would have to rock up in a ford focus and get a 3 bed semi in Ryhope. On £33K take home a month 😂

I'm not and have never suggested he stayed here to keep me or anyone happy?

I suggesting he shouldn't have signed for Ipswich because they aren't a side with good enough short term prospects for a player of his talents.

He doesn't need the money but I seriously can't think of a single other reason why he's signed for them.

To play premier league football

Of course it isn’t but he had no other proper premier league offer did he so it isn’t a choice to make, you’re making up stuff in your own head. The spurs situation is no where near the same he was much younger as a starting point and he wasn’t even getting on the bench. So what should he have done
