Boro thread

This thread has turned into you lot reassuring eachother that Boro still aren't very good. Don't worry about it.

I fear our defence may let us down. We concede too many to challenge right at the top of the league I think.
Classic this. Nee posts on this thread this season then win a few games and here they are.

Respectfully, and I think you are great for the work you do with dogs, but I haven’t read your posts on football for a good while until your upturn in form. I think they are packed with thinly veiled digs with the intention of antagonising people.
Look, in All seriousness I don't (try to antagonise), but I do realise it can come across that way.
I honestly see just things from a Boro perspective (naturally), and only try to point out that we're (club and MOST supporters) aren't how we get painted by some on here.

Only things I point out really are that it's a long season and nowts decided yet, despite your much stronger start.

Haven't posted on pure football for a while (even after our 'upturn'), but its got nothing to do with how we're doing.

And so you should after 15 seasons in the division ..surely you should be giving it a right go by now
Correct tbf. I hadn't given it much thought at all but it's canny mad when you think we've just left the worst period in the clubs entire history and have overtaken them already whilst they spend tens of millions more than us every year.

Thank you for the dog comment by the way 👍.
It can get stressful ( up to Friday we had TEN dogs in the house - long story), but it's really worthwhile.

Sorry to go off topic.

100%. I don’t envy you - I am actually down south minding four ex breeding cocker spaniels bitches from Many Tears whilst my brother is away. On top of my own rescue (and Millwall scoring in the 93rd minute) I have definitely gained a few greys

See the Boro muppets are up in arms as we apparently haven’t noticed they are now world beaters with the team of Bergcamp and Zidane replacements. Well they have beaten Oxford Luton and QPRI suppose, where we only took a piss poor 7 points. Apparently our collapse is well under way. It’s quite amusing how when we are having a good run then it will end soon but when they are then there’s no end in sight!

Apparently it will all go to shit “when injuries and suspensions kick in” ….because we didn’t get a point at the form team of the league with 6 regular first teamers missing. Yes 6 starters (Hume, Roberts, Cirkin, Mundle Jobe, Browne for you FMTTM lurkers) not exactly bit part players. 9 games away and 7 at home will balance out when we play 3 of the next 4 at fortress SOL.

Oh and the reason this thread is 223 pages long and over a season is that we put all the shite in one place, rather than having 3 threads about Sunderland on your opening page every week!!

Anyway, it’s good to see Carrick is now savior again after you all wanted him out after a 0-3 hone defeat against Coventry.

For the record I think Boro are a pretty good outfit but don’t think they have much steel, which will show when they have tougher games than the last three. “Only” a five point gap now though eh…and lots of players back Tuesday for us. Mind the Gap 🤣

Absolute spanners to a man.
You do realise, this was the first comment on this thread since Nov 10....2 weeks ago....so it appears you have started the pile on, on this thread.

No 'Boro fan replied/commented on this thread, after their 3 wins in a row, until you bumped up the thread.

It's like someone who hates gore films, going to watch Saw, then moaning about it afterwards.

One of the lads has just mentioned that whilst in League 1 it was the worst period in our clubs entire history (1879).

He then said isn’t it mad how how we’ve then overtaken the Berreh by spending only 5.3m compared to their 117.2m since that relegation.

I said “mate, that is mad”

Aye, I posted that after reading a multitude of threads about sunderland on the Boro forum, most of which were talking utter bollocks and knowing quite a few on there come on here. They’re still operating under the delusion of “when injuries and suspensions kick in” we won’t cope, like Saturday I suppose…

To be fair, hats off to Steve Gibson, I’d have got pissed off years ago, ploughing money in for nowt. 15 years!! Have they reached a play off final in that time?

Boro look a big threat at minute to be fair. Not sure why things have suddenly clicked as they looked devoid of any creative players against us and others earlier in the season.
I think you caught us at a good time in that we were struggling a bit for confidence and anyone putting men behind the ball against us wasn't likely to lose.

The simple explanation for why we're better is Ben Doak. When he's got the ball he's dangerous and even when he hasn't he draws a marker away from the other forwards who have a bit more space and time to play as a result. Obviously it's dangerous to rely on one player but the lad is special and offers something completely different to our other attackers- just wish he was actually ours.
