Nissan

Haven’t read full thread , is Nissan in big financial trouble because of their full commitment to EV vehicles , which much of the public don’t seem convinced by , and the battery plants ? Or is there much more to it ?

Much more to it, NMUK currently don’t build an electric vehicle.
 
It’s not exactly a good advertfor EVS when none of your staff barely drive them and the ones that do can’t get a charger at the plant that makes them and is supposed to be going all electric

The nail the infrastructure in s properly in place and everyone is confident they will get years of trouble free motoring and a half decent resale value be loads of people hold fire.
Will have the salary sacrifice mob getting on board if it makes financial sense.
I looked the other day and leaf’s of a decent spec were something like 28k
Then looked at second hand and a similar leaf 3-4 years old with circa 30k on the clock was on sale at 10k with battery capacity at 75%.
So many questions about evs still for many people that’s before you knock out a sizeable amount of customers that haven’t got off street parking etc.

We will all be driving em at some point but when that point in time is will be anyone’s guess

The headcount for the production levels is correct I’ve heard. If you look at the accounts on companies house for the last few years headcount has been ~6700 for cars being built in the range 180-300k per year. If anything many parts of the site are massively understaffed.

Some people need to keep off the carling…
