Sam Fender

There are Sunderland supporters who live amongst us who buy tickets and attend these Geordie Karaoke sessions as the mag tramps have competitions to out-do each other in the super Geordie stakes.

In a world where every single song ever created is a few clicks away on the internet, these people choose to follow this pretendy mag freak.

It blows my mind.

I quite like his music but I could never attend one of his concerts round here, no f***ing chance- hate having toon toon shite shoved in my face.

I unfollowed this north east family day out page on Facebook recently because the lass kept on posting mag stuff

The point I am making is with every song ever created available in a few clicks, you'll be able to find an almost identical artist to Fender within a few minutes because there's not many unique artists these days. It's very easy to enjoy Fender's music style without ever listening to one of his songs if you are willing to look beyond what Radio 1 plays.

A very weak argument
It weird how a few on here cling to this, yet would claim any part of County Durham as Sunderland FC territory.

Some people claiming he was never a Newcastle fan, he went to John Spence High, I have nephews the same age live round there who know him, he has always been a Newcastle supporter.

I am old enough to remember when a considerable number of people from Sunderland would call themselves Geordies, there is no hard and fast definition, it's just since the rise of the internet and the desperate need to seek a separate identity that this change has become a thing.

People have said he wasn't interested in football. Similarly, my misses has very little interest in football but if asked who she supported would say Sunderland because that's who all the family support.
