Xmas around the corner. Really good time to show your support to our city centre
I went straight from the match to war horse last Saturday with a stop at the Keel Tavern - was a great buzz around the empire. Will be even better doing that when the bridge opens!
My daughter brought a few of her uni mates from Northumbria uni through for a night out last Saturday night. They loved it and were shocked how good and busy it was.
They had only heard bad things about Sunderland from the geordie bias before that
Pie!Trying the Keel Tavern for food for the first time tonight. Any recommendations?

The ‘geordie’ bias is usually always from people not from Newcastle funnily enoughMy daughter brought a few of her uni mates from Northumbria uni through for a night out last Saturday night. They loved it and were shocked how good and busy it was.

Well I'll disagree with that. It all steams from Geordies not having a good word to say about Sunderland. This opinion is then passed on as fact to outsidersThe ‘geordie’ bias is usually always from people not from Newcastle funnily enough
I find that. Usually, places like North Shields or Blyth (obv not always and a lot of bigots ln Newcastle mind). The bigger the shithole the more they seem to despise Sunderland. The only part they know is Pennywell from about thirty years back. The elderly lady from Belfast (when asked where I was from) who hadnt been as it was too dangerous, this from her geordie son in law, I realised what Sunderland is up against. The ‘geordie’ bias is usually always from people not from Newcastle funnily enough

So they started in the Stack then got taxis to keel square. Worked their way from there to Cooper Rose and into Gatesbys.Where did they go?

Loads of the Irish Black Cats group come over to Sunderland home games and love the place.
They speak very highly of the pubs and restaurants and stay in Sunderland rather than Newcastle.
Oh yes the Sunderland snobs. Hopefully they are getting fewer and fewerYou still get it with people from Sunderland. Two women at the gym up silky the other night who were clearly from Sunderland but putting on that stupid faux- middle class nasal accent , one of them was telling the other one that when her son visits for the weekend from Altrincham he just simply refuses to go out in Sunderland so they always go through Jesmond. "I don't blame you" scoffs the other one .
But that's what the council and entrepreneurs of the city are up against
