*~*~* Preston v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

RLB got his starting 11 wrong, and it showed once he brought Roberts and Mundle back on with Isador upfront. Maybe it would have been a different outcome if he had started with his tried and tested first 11, but I suppose you've got to give these things a go to find out if it works. Shame as I think Preston were there for the taking tbh.

Still, a point away and a clean sheet from a display sadly lacking in the kind of quality we've come to expect from the lads. We'll take it, and there's a chance to put things right come Saturday at home to a Coventry side that look all over the place atm.

Are you Dan Neil haters just back from voting for Trump?
"Haters" is exactly the rhetoric trump uses when people rightfully criticise him. Neil plays in one of the key positions in a football team, so naturally is under the microscope. If he has a bad game it has the potential to put the defence under the cosh and also affect the attackers.

I think he only looks class when we are playing comfortably, he mostly folds under the pressure when it's a tough game. I think we signed Samed because the management knows we need alternatives to Neil, unfortunately for us he got injured.

I don't know why people can't handle professional footballers being criticised, especially when this is a forum in which the whole purpose is to share opinions on SAFC and it's players. Do you honestly think he played well tonight?

Great away point

Decent result. The whole picture is top of the league after 14 matches, lost twice, not a bad effort at all. Are SAFC good enough to be better than everyone we play we in this league? Don't think anyone is in this league. Whether or not we are good enough to get enough points to get out of this league is another matter.

What I would say is, I have no idea why you wouldn't play the lad who has been scoring and looks like he will score regularly at this level, as your centre forward.

What a bunch of miserable ***** this "fan" base is

Top of the league and still toxic
Oh be quiet you utter clown.

Fans are allowed to express their views and opinions.

Great that we are still top of the league but the last two performances have been poor and we have created nothing.

Thats not negative or miserable. Thats fact !!!

How long have people been watching football on here .Surely everybody knows teams go through an off patch during the season .Two nil nil draws isn’t a crisis frustrating yes but it’s a long long season.Remember where we were not to long ago .
Nah not a crisis just frustrating we can't get a shot on target.

Neil getting stick again and can’t judge because I haven’t seen the stream.
You would have thought though playing the role as the defensive midfielder protecting the back four and nine clean sheets in 14 games, there must be something he’s doing right.
They literally controlled the game and ran through us. If he’s playing DM he’s the problem.
We need a proper dm there as numerous people have said. Midfield is non existent

We will find it harder against the teams at the bottom with nothing to lose than the teams at the top with everything to lose.
It wasn't like Preston weren't trying to play and just defending. They were the better team for much of the game.
