West Indies v England: ODI Series

Shows the value in just building an innings in this format. Too often we just treat it as a t20 still. Both Livi and Curran have shown that you do have time to build in this format.

Probably is though a further sign of systemic problems in that most players now don’t actually know how to pace an innings in this format because they don’t get practice in it.

The West Indies didn't even make the World Cup.

Took a knock we won't see again from Livingstone to avoid a series defeat.

But happy clap away.
No I'm not commenting on opposition more that people are quick to criticise England fairly early, Livingstone has played well recently let's hope it continues

Your missing the point massively though.

We're not criticising the individuals playing in the series

We're criticising the ridiculous of the scheduling and the lack of care towards the format. We were an utter embarrassment at the last world cup because our best players didn't play the format together regularly. We've continued doing just that.

Livingstone is the sort of player who can pull off ridiculous innings. He's got that Maxwell like freak in him. Problem he is terrible most of the time.

Defs a positive to take as he will be Pakistan, hope he shows that there he was completely and utterly shite in India.

Surely appointing baz and aligning the schedule come January does exactly what people are critical of them for

We've got a white ball series against the West Indies sandwiched in-between Zimbabwe and India Test series and then an Ireland White ball series running concurrently with India series.

Then following on from a 5 match test series against India. We have 3 white ball series against south Africa, West Indies and New Zealand to cram in before the Ashes and then immediately after the Ashes we've got a white ball series in Sri Lanka and then T20 world cup for 2 months.

If we see our best side involved in many of those white ball games after the Champions Trophy r I'll be absolutely shocked. The focus will be solely on India and The Ashes even if McCullum is the coach.

The sides will be packed full of new faces that have barely played 50 over cricket since the Hundred launched

I think you right but at the same time there is a good side there imo when all players available, really need to stop these clashes and allow the team to have its best players available.

However concern is that will not happen enough

Looking forward to McCullum taking over and having Duckett, Brook, Root, Smith available and with a fully fit Buttler back with the above players the batting looks a hell of a lot stronger.

Root needs to be in this side to give it balance and the team to bat around him.
