One of the things that’s always made me like him that bit more was the fact he chose to stay living in Durham. Yes it’s a gorgeous house etc but he could’ve easily moved up to Darras Hall or somewhere.

I don't think it's insensitive at all, you'd have to be a robot to not be affected by it.
Someone broke into my flat once and I didn't give a toss about the things they nicked but knowing a stranger was walking around my flat upset and unsettled me for a while. I can't imagine what it would be like for his family to be there at the time. Awful thing to happen to anyone.

My dad got burgled back in the late 70s in his early 20s. Made him proper paranoid about the door being locked all these years later.
So I got a few bollockings in my younger years for coming in pissed and forgetting to lock the door overnight.
