What about shows or films where everyone talks in a very quiet whisper all the time, so you turn the telly up. Then there is a sound effect or music and it is so loud your windows vibrate. Then you have very dark scenes all the time that might work on a cinema screen but are crap at home, especially if you are trying to watch during the day. There are a few things where I think I have not been able to see or hear anything for the last 10 minutes.
Yes, or sometimes it is someone holding a letter. A few times I've had to move closer to the screen and with contacts in my vision is pretty good.I’ll see you that and raise you :
The constant use of mobile phone screens with text messages that are way too small on the tv screen to read, let alone know how much of the conversation and context you’re supposed to read - or know about for plot-following purposes - before they disappear. I’ve considered pausing to enable understanding (coz I’m not the only one in my household to notice it) but I resent the fact that the programme producers don’t realise it.
I recall when the Cumberbatch/Freeman ‘Sherlock’ introduced presenting text on screen when communications were made by mobile phone that were important to the plot. I can’t understand why that isn’t done or the alternative of zooming in on the text that you’re meant to read and understand isn’t employed.
It's the soundtrack for the university boat race.
This last bit astounds me. So many rude people are allowed to actually answer phonesPeople driving around housing estates over 20mph
People using phones in gyms
Rude people I speak to at work (no please, thank you, hello etc)
Fancy dress, kids aside, you all look and act like wankers
Fancy dress in general obviously, not just today.
You’re trying to make me say “pics?” aren’t you?I quite like my pirate outfit.

Pics?
The car in front of me at the traffic lights coming out of Stowell Street onto St James Boulevard. It's a side road so you only get a short go at the lights, then have to wait ages for the next lights cycle.
They were on green as I approached but turned amber so the car in front stopped and I stopped behind. Sat and waited for the main traffic to have a long go on the lights. Then as the lights changed to green, some pedestrians stopped by the lights. The car in front waved them across. They waved back and said they'd wait. Car waved them across again, so they decided to cross. Then then lights went onto amber, the car in front nipped through and I was left sitting waiting for the next lights cycle.
