Pakistan v England 3rd Test

"Very helpful to spin bowling", " minefield " semantics surely. Doesn't alter the fact that the tail in both team's 1st innings survived and flourished on it.
You don't accept it was a meek surrender?
Or yeah it was no getting away from it, however simply making the point, that once a pitch prepared to be very helpful for spinner bowlers we were always going to struggle because they spinners a lot better than ours unless you think otherwise?

They're certainly a lot more experienced than ours, particularly in their own back yard. What these 2 results confirm to me is that Basball isn't the panacea for all conditions. McCullum and Stokes seem intent in their belief one size fits i.e bazball all and it appears they won't or can't adapt to different conditions.

Exactly. People slagging off County Cricket. Don’t tell me that New Zealand’s first class competition is better.
It might be tbf because there’s fuck all money in NZ cricketers so only the really good ones make it. But I get your point. There’s no excuse with our resources not to be that level more often.

Yeah I think it’s fair to say they should and need to adapt more.

However I would also say in these last two tests with the quality of their spinners opposed to ours on them turning tracks I genuinely think we would have still lost even if we look a more sedate approach and historical results in Asia back up that view.

In fact I would go as far as to say if we took a more sedate approach we would have lost this series 2-0 rather than 2-1.

As like I say still think they spinners would have too much for us on them wickets even with a different approach and in the first test a more sedate approach would not have gave us enough time to get 20 wickets on that flat track.

I agree with you up to a point in future and previous test series this team needs to adapt more to the game situation but think in this particular series it would not have made a difference to the result as their spinners too good and ours not

Nothing wrong with Bazball at all in that 1st test on a road but the 2nd and 3rd test proved once again it doesn't work on more challenging tracks. You're ignoring the fact that England's late order added 167 runs with cautious but not sedate batting. They scored at 4 per over in adding those runs -that's not sedate. What is does show is that their spinners were far from unplayable.
Don't let facts get in the road of your argument😀
