*~*~* Luton v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Seeing Rigg's goal again - it's like watching a world class chess player. Absolutely superb skill and brains.

Mundle's was Jack Clarke++ - he defends far better and has more versatile attacking ability too IMO.

Luverly stuff tonight.
And who's the bloke running on the outside to pull players away creating space for Mundle?

Luke O'Nien, superb stuff from our leader 🙂

I think that in his 2 games so far Connolly has shown a lot of "game smarts" , he's winning free kicks and breaking up the game, would have gone mental if he scored from the DN through ball, just felt at the time it was a lit bit of match sharpness rather than ability that let him down.
Was way slow on that finish mind , but the bit of ratting he did in the last minute in our half was quality

Tough game that and one we would definitely have lost last season. I had to laugh when they moaned about our fouls, given they were getting away with all sorts. They could give it but couldn't take it.

Clinical performance and two bits of quality made the difference. Beginning to think we may have chance of going up this season, long way to go but we have to remain consistent. Oxford is a must win now.

Rigg reminds me of Bryan Robson.

100% credit to RLB bloke has us resilient even to aerial bombardment. Don’t know how he’s done it with largely the same players but it’s a massive credit to him!

I reckon same chance in a couple of months he buries it, just lack of game time and totally understandable.
yeah , he is nowhere near playing on automatic yet . Not just cardio fitness he hasnt played much this season or last really , not with any fluency anyway . As to say , give him half a dozen games and he'll be pulling the trigger

I'd like to think Dodds and Proctor would have briefed him as I doubt he's ever witnessed anything like that in France.

It made a massive difference to us having Mepham and Cirkin challenging for long balls rather than likes of Gooch like the last time we played Luton too.

The lads take most of the credit for me. They never took a backward step against a team of absolute shithouses.

It was literally unbelievable what the ref let then get away with. Some teams are cute and get away with a few things. Luton were f***ing blatant and got away with f***ing murder!
You'd think the refs would all be well aware of how Luton play if they know they are getting away with it. I can only assume the ref doesn't like SAFC, that's how blatant it was.
